Please keep discussion in this thread narrowly focused on football and directly football-related issues.

Two Bills Drive no longer finds it appropriate to engage in COVID-19 discussion in our main discussion areas. We are a Buffalo Bills fan community and we exist to serve fans of the Buffalo Bills and the NFL. Please use other communities and venues to discuss heath-related topics including COVID-19.

Information about COVID-19 is available from many globally respected sources including:

Uptodate     |  British Medical Journal Best Practice   |      COVIPENDIUM    |    Our world in Data

The pinned topic: COVID-19 - Facts and Information Only Topic, located on the Off the Wall subforum, is also a resource.   Should these not meet your needs, many other sources of information (of varied accuracy) exist.

Thank you!

The problem for the NFL is that they did not want to bubble - I do understand that would be problematic, with the specialized home training and conditioning equip each team has, and requires - and they have open-air stadia which pose issues going into Dec/Jan much less February.

I bet playoff time....they bubble.  100%

Especially if they delay the season, that may be the only realistic way to safely get the playoff games in....but my understanding is that to date, the NFLPA has been staunch opposed, and of course teams who are playing for the division lead and the home-field advantage don't want to see that go out the window, like a flock of tiny bluebirds fluttering away.

Schefter can say whatever, doesn't make it true

He's usually pretty spot on with this stuff, but he did say it's in jeopardy, not that it's guaranteed... So yeah

Schefler just said the titans bills game is in jeopardy

He has been saying that for days. And it is. Titans have to have 2 consecutive days of no new positive tests to get in the facility by Wed. If they can’t, they won’t play.

welp they cant have every game suspended. its there own damn fault they going to have to start taking L's

There needs to be a no more than 2 game movement rule for each team. The Titans should get to hold the rest of the league hostage. They start forfeiting games after 2 postponements. The Bills should want a postponement. Why do they want our team exposed to those buffoons and jeopardize our season ?

Yeah, I don’t know what will happen with that game, but that’s the protocol

lets say they miss our game and next do to covid. your not going to force teams to play 2 a week. would we have to play bye? 3 week extended season for makeups?

they screwed up not all the teams that are ready to play them

They should just keep them shut down and give them losses every week until they are all clean.  I am not saying this because we play them.  I'm not scared of losing to them at all.  I just think they ignored protocol and should pay for it with more then what amounts to meaningless cash to them.  They should have to forfeit until they are healthy. No other team that has done things correctly should get screwed on their schedule nor should they have to risk catching this virus.

I’m sure there are contingency plans, we will learn this week

That would be motivational for those too stubborn to take responsible measures to limit risks.

Regardless, this is going to be an odd year... and as much as I love this time of year and feel like the heavens opened and gave me something to enjoy, i have to think of the long-term safety of players and their families too.

We will see how this plays out and if they are able to keep a lid on it.

Fact:

I went to records of 1987 (the strike-shortened season).

I see no asterisks

Opinion:

McBeane are "in it to win it" to build a long-term contender.  Whatever happens this season, "We'll Be Back"

your right but less games do to player choice

and

less games do to illnesses (not players choice)

is 2 entirely different beasts

fact.

EDITED

Im not going to compare to 87///

If I was Beane and company I would do a voluntary bubble for the playoffs.  Keep outside exposure to a min for a few weeks.
