HappyDays Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 (edited) I love this video. It shows how Allen's mechanics and footwork have changed from 2019 to 2020, and how he's reading defenses better. Edited September 26, 2020 by HappyDays 6 3 9
Coach Tuesday Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Well that was insanely awesome. Also now I want a whiskey real bad. 3 1
The Wiz Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 The way they manipulate his mechanics with that front foot hop is really strange to see but it is obviously working great for him. 1

There were only 2 plays last week where I thought JA was off. One was the near interception (that ball should have been thrown away because the Fish were literally in a PERFECT defense for the play) and the other was a completion in the flat where John Brown (I think) was WIDE OPEN on a deep curl.

My only concern is that by heaping so much praise on him this early, we are setting ourselves (OK, at least ME), up for some painful disappointment. (I happen to be President of my local chapter of the Nervous Nellie Club.). Everyone needs to remember every week will not be a new best, a beautiful thing to behold. Let’s hope the inevitable bumps in the road are not too serious. 4
Coach Tuesday Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I wonder if the anticipated pressure up the middle tomorrow will impact his comfort level doing that front foot hop step. Interior passrush often gets a QB to revert to poor mechanics. 1

I haven't had the Yamazaki 12 or the Macallan 18, just the Oban 14. These webcasting gigs must pay well to have all that on hand. 1 hour ago, Coach Tuesday said: I wonder if the anticipated pressure up the middle tomorrow will impact his comfort level doing that front foot hop step. Scott7975 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Awesome video. I love breakdowns and analysis like this because I am just not that football smart and its interesting. Thanks for sharing OP. 3
MJS Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Josh Allen is going to have a down game or two this season. It's inevitable. But that's ok, because I'm confident he will make adjustments as they are needed and learn from those down games. One day he will be a savvy veteran and he will be very difficult to fool, and by that time he'll be carving up the league because he will still have all of his elite physical abilities. 2 1

I thought it was well-written and performed and had some nice humility in there as well. thanks. 1

NoHuddleKelly12 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Well done—great X’s and O’s analysis on a deeper level but without being dry or condescending. As @Augieobserved upthread, not every week will feature a new personal best for Allen, and we will have to tamp down the pitchforks & torches crew (that’s been noticeably absent around here of late) when those weeks inevitably come—but hopefully the bumps will be mild along our march to playoff redemption! Thanks OP! 1
NewEra Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Just enjoy the ride. It’s probably going to be a bit bumpy You’ll probably get sick to your stomach a few times a month. At some point, you may even second guess why you even got on the ride to begin with. But when the ride is over, you’re gonna wish it never ended. It’s going to be THAT DAM GOOD!
Charles Romes Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Following Baldy these video bloggers have found that the easiest way to more clicks and with zero downside is to heap boundless praise. I mean I’m happily clicking away envisioning the Lombardi but it’s a little embarrassing

Remember a play last week where he kind of slid away from a guy near his knees / feet where if he had fully planted and delivered may have been no bueno. 27 minutes ago, NewEra said: Just enjoy the ride. That kind of entertainment in itself is something we haven’t had in a long time.
