Hapless Bills Fan Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Saw some playing time against Miami - 67% of the ST snaps Just activated again https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-elevate-deon-lacey-from-practice-squad 30 years old Been kicking around the league and the CFL for 7 years Does this mean they're worried they won't get a full game out of Milano and they need to backfill on ST? Or maybe just trying to limit his action by not playing him on ST? Milano played 30-40% of the ST snaps last year 1

Lacey is an OLB - so cant be in there to spell Edmunds / Dodson. Edited September 26, 2020 by IgotBILLStopay

GunnerBill Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 This is to backfill Phillips on teams I am pretty certain. Think it is good news for Edmunds and Milano. 2
CSBill Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Hopefully for Special Teams and a back-up/depth for OLB

Bigvinny Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Fills special needs role. Nothing to do with Milano or Edmunds.
CSBill Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Posted 32 minutes ago Joe B agrees with us, this is good . . . 1 1

Think it is good news for Edmunds and Milano. Makes sense. Would also make sense that if Milano and Edmunds are "playing themselves healthy" they might want to spare them some ST snaps. Edmunds hasn't played much ST - 15% of the snaps or so - but Milano last year played about 1/3 or a bit more. 2
billybrew1 Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Deon Lacey is a very good ST LB, so he may give us a lift there. Even if Milano starts, he has a hammy, so it’s very possible he doesn’t last long. Edmunds never lost the red jersey all week and no one has speculated as to what’s wrong with him so I put him at 50/50 because while he was in red, he practiced all three days at least some. Both will talk it over with trainers and coaches Sunday morning. I’m hoping for at least one to play. If both play, I think the Bills could shock theworld and win easy.... 31-20. Pretty boastful comment for a guy who hasn’t posted lately.....but Allen is a force of nature and Miami’s O played better than everyone thinks last week.

Lacey may play some special teams, as I assume Delshawn Phillips did, and he's available for snaps on defense, but he's motly insurance in cas Milano and/or Edmunds can't go or are on a snap count. Phillips would have had that role if he were healthy. Lacey is pretty athletic. He just never was able to elevate his game enough to get named as a starter.
HOUSE Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I been following him for years, all the way back to Canada. Has a knack for the big play. He is still the same player IMO
Matt_In_NH Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I think he is a Dodson backfill mostly.

That seems pretty high for such an important and 3 down guy.

No it's not surprising to me Historically deep and good teams have some starters on specialities. Bob woods was a st demon Milano absolutely can play st in circumstances
