CorkScrewHill Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Did anyone else see him? I am wondering if they only played him during the blackout as I cannot recall him being on the field. He had no stats so there is that. I guess at least he got on the field, but I hope the light turns on soon for him. Not bashing him .. just hope he makes an impact as I have no doubt we will need our depth players at some point on the line. 2 1 1
Warcodered Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 So that's why there was a blackout, pretty sneaky. 1 7
buffalobillswin Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Isiah Simmons the number 8 pick only played 7 snaps for a much worse defense. Things happen 3 4
thenorthremembers Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) He has talented veterans ahead of him. He will get his time. Luckily the Bills have built the roster well enough where draft picks dont need to be starters "off the bus" anymore. Edited September 22, 2020 by thenorthremembers 18
Bangarang Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 His first game as a pro...”I hope the light turns on soon” lol unreal 5 6 1 5

Hell, just like ANY higher draft pick we've ever had... you just can't please everyone. They maybe just aren't used to seeing ACTUAL quality depth LOL 1
JohnNord Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 AJ had as many tackles as I did Sunday! 1 1

Straight Hucklebuck Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 He needs a year in the weight room. A 5.02 40-yard, 17 reps on the bench and 32” vertical. He is a sub-par NFL athlete based on those testing metrics, so I think that’s where he needs to improve to get onto the field. 3 1

TBBills Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Don't worry bro... He's a "Luxury Pick" 4
Cruiserplayer Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 We have a quality d line. A.J. missed approximately 2500 reps that rookies normally get. He’s a tad undersized . What are you expecting?
billsfan89 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 A lot of rookies are having a hard time making an impact due to the lack of a pre-season and a lack of off-season in person training. So AJ getting 17 snaps is probably the coaching staff trying to ease him in. 1
Kmart128 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I saw him in the game a couple of times.

Also to pick on another rookie, Davis only scored 1 touchdown which is as many as the undrafted fullback/tight end scored 7
blacklabel Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I saw him out there once or twice. Honestly, I wouldn't expect a whole lot from him this season. Without a regular off-season and pre-season games to get used to the speed of the game at the NFL level I think it's tough to expect him to come right out and tear it up. He's also seen as a bit of a project, needs refinement in some areas. But the word on him coming out of college was that he doesn't do any one thing spectacularly, but he does all things well. A quote from an AFC exec or scout said something like, "Give him a year or two and we'll all be saying, dang, we over thought it with him."
dickleyjones Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 McDermott tends to bring draft picks on slow, under the pretense that they must "earn it". And so it is for Epenesa. 1
Rocky Landing Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I saw him out there, but don't recall anything noteworthy.
