BillsShredder83 Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Mods feel free to move. Not sure where non Bills football talk goes. Is this OK errr? Ff to 8:30. This pick6 got called PI. I understand the sentiment of the rule but damn i hate this call. He has the same right to the football as the receiver. I think its a helluva play, wish it wasn't called back. What you guys think?
BillsFanSD Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Seems like PI to me. The defender made contact with the receiver before the ball arrived.
Billsfan1972 Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 PI pretty clear cut imo. He ran through the receiver to get the ball.
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 (edited) In my opinion it is a borderline call, if the receiver is not moving WAITING for the ball, the db must have the right to play the ball thus making contact with the receiver. As the rule is ruled right now, I fear this is PI... Edited September 21, 2020 by PaoloBillsFanFromItaly

Defender has the right to put his arm around & try and knock the ball away. He does not have the right to hit him before the ball arrives.

I agree, but only because the hit arrived way before the ball. In case of a bang bang play I will give the possibility to the DB to play "through" the receiver, I saw a lot of DPI called in this case.
Matt_In_NH Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 I see both sides....nice aggresive play by the DB but it's interference. 1
quinnearlysghost88 Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 The DB does have a right to the ball too. Just not by hitting the WR before it gets there. Step around the WR or jump the route. You don’t get to blow up a WR because you think you have a right to the ball. You have a right when you’re actually in position to make a play. Not when you got beat on a curl route.
