Simon Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 "a player initiates a block in which he is moving toward or parallel to his own end line and makes forcible contact to his opponent with his helmet, forearm, or shoulder" They've been calling it for a couple years to minimize concussions and whether we like or not that was a penalty on McKenzie 1
Southern Bills Fan Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Was he moving toward or parallel to his own end zone? It didn’t look like it. 13
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 I didn’t like the call either. bogus call

If your lined up outside coming down the LOS and pop somebody they will call it every time now 2 minutes ago, Southern Bills Fan said: Was he moving toward or parallel to his own end zone? Captain_Quint Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 If there is any contact, they have to just screen them, not hit them. They called it that way last week too.

If that part of the equation is missing, then it's another crap call.
Simon Posted September 20, 2020 Author Posted September 20, 2020 you could say he's moving when he lunges forward with his shoulder its a penalty now and will get called every time

They talked about it specifically in the offseason. In that same situation, McKenzie just needs to get in the guys way and put his hands up.

Mr. K Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 While I wasn't a fan of the call nobody should be surprised in the age of player safety.
Ya Digg? Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 It was a great, clean block-there has to be awareness by the defense too. He didn’t launch at him, he didn’t hit him in the head/neck, it was simply a bad call. The dolphins CB had pretty much literally no awareness on that play

Its all about protecting guys heads and that's a wicked situation in regards to getting concussed by an opponent, the turf or whiplash 1

Mckittrick was moving forward when he made the block on a DB who was running wild in pursuit. 1
