Preston Brown once led the league in tackles.  He sucked.

roberts was good.  Love having him back there.

zimmer filled his roll today and contributed.  I wouldn’t call him a star.

LOL on the Preston Brown reference.....yes why yes he DID suck.  HOW he got all those tackles was beyond comprehension.

Roberts is awesome and very very close to busting one loose......

At one point, I actually heard the announcer call out our ... "Justin Zimmer-led defense".  If anyone has the full quote, it was priceless.  #couldBatattoo

Not a peep about RT Daryl Williams.  He quietly had a good game.

When you don't hear an OL's name, it means he didn't get flagged for any penalties and didn't do anything egregiously bad.  But the entire O line really struggled against the Jet's D line.  Our RBs got lousy stats but they had no holes to run through.  So yeah, I didn't hear any of their names but I didn't see Motor or Moss sprinting to the second level, either.

Didn’t realize Zimmer was 27, he’s bounced around a bunch since the Bills signed him as a UDFA back in 2016.  He’s an athletic freak, had a ridiculous Pro Day.  Wonder if he can finally put it all together.  His measurables are a lot like Kyle’s, and that run stuff in the backfield he made early in the game looked like a KW special.

I think the Jets D line and run game in particular was their strength last year. I also wonder if Greg Williams might of picked Frank Gore’s brain on some of the blocking schemes for run plays.

Frank's input:  They blocked for me?

Another sneaky player: Ryan Bates was on field and no one in broadcasting noticed the substitution so he did a good job.

Wasn’t a substitution was an extra lineman.  Think he was tackle eligible on Josh’s TD run.

At the NFL level running backs know blocking schemes. Given Frank has been in the league as long as he has, he for sure had information for Williams. Not really sure how that is difficult to understand.

No flags on any of the Roberts punt returns!

That's a good one but I think the NFL is giving teams a reprieve on some of this stuff in week 1.  We will see what happens as the season moves along.  Every return last year seemed to involve a flag.

I thought the pass blocking was exceptional Sunday. In fact if you want to harp on Allen for something he should have made bigger pass plays with all that time.

That's the nature of an offensive lineman.  If they do their job, it's quiet and the QB gets the attention.

Joe B is claiming in his Athletic write-up is that Ed Oliver wreaked havoc on the line and was a big reason why their run defense was so good.

That's what I saw.  He was an absolute BEAST yesterday to my untrained eyes.

I know people hate it, but Trent Murphy was pretty damn good yesterday. And others said, Oliver was schooling the interior guys. I though Addison and Hughes were dominate as well.
