I think Allen explodes.. I think that by the end of the year Allen is viewed as a top 10 QB universally by the media.. I think this game was just the tip of the iceberg.. this offense is just too darn explosive.. Brown is going to destroy people with Diggs taking all that pressure off of him.. this receiving corps we have now is as good as any in the NFL.. this is not an A+ game from Allen... he’s still knocking rust off.. I think this is just the start of something much bigger..

If that happened vs KC we likely lose the game because of those turnovers. In fact the 2nd fumble gave the Jets life. Edited September 14, 2020 by Buffalo_Stampede

Expand Not overthrowing 2 wide open targets in the endzone (14 missed points) Not fumbling twice in Jets territory. (6-14 additional points missed) Allen proved a lot yesterday, but the bills should have blown that game open by at least 20+ points. They had the ball for 41 min and only scored 27 points. Id say B+ is about accurate. If you are not playing the Jets, those turnovers are at least 7-10 point swings. 1

Every single one. Even Mahomes. If you are just grading Josh's passing he was at worst an A- for yesterday. That is probably what I'd have given him and if he hits Brown it is a clear A. I think bumping him down for the two fumbles which resulted in turnovers is fair, but as a passer only it was a pretty clean game. And I am on record as saying his passing development matters to me much more at this point. So while I do bump his grade for yesterday down to a B+ rather than A- my feeling about where he is headed on the back of that game is 100% positive. Now he needs to stack really good weeks, one after the other. That is what the best guys do. He normally likes playing against Miami so fingers crossed. Expand Need to see All-22 for a better assessment of his progress. I want to see tangible improvement in decision making and less hesitation in throwing guys open. Don't know if I really saw that yesterday.

DrDawkinstein Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 B+ is fair. Dude looked great but you gotta ding him for not just one, but TWO bad fumbles deep into drives that would've meant points. Without the fumbles, he was a solid A. Even with the couple of misses (all QBs have a "couple of misses" each game, all of them). Great start tho! 72% (on 46 attempts!) and 312 yds. You love to see it.

Call_Of_Ktulu Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 (edited) Against teams like the Rams or Cowboys those 2 fumbles most likely cost us the game along with the missed FG. Thank god we played the Jets week 1. If Allen is passing the football like that you can get rid of the designed QB keeper runs. The only time I want to see Allen running is when the Passing play breaks down and there is a opening where he can pick up yardage and slide or run out of bounds without being hit. He needs to watch Russel Wilson tape for a month to see the art of picking up yards as a QB without taking a hit. I would rate him as a B- Edited September 14, 2020 by Call_Of_Ktulu

dollars 2 donuts Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Interesting note here. Going back to the Tennessee game last year Josh Allen is 249 out of 422 for a 59% completions, with 19 TDs and 3 interceptions. He is 8-5 (I ignored the loss against the Jets last year, but still used the 3 for 5, for 5 yards stats), and has the old fashioned style QB rating (not the QBR) of 90.57. Yes, his rushing fumbles hurt him, but man that TD to Interception ratio is impressive. His career breakdown prior to that game was 13 TDs and 16 Interceptions.
