Hapless Bills Fan Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 3 hours ago, dollars 2 donuts said: @Hapless Bills Fan Very respectfully I disagree. FL my disagreement has nothing to do with any current disputes between competing political agendas we currently see in society, but rather the current legal standard we use in the city and community, in general, regarding business oriented property, but more specifically the parking areas for the same. In short, you really do have to post signage, and that is for simple trespass, let alone arresting somebody (but I would hope the arresting more so applies to actually trying to enter the stadium). Obviously there is a different standard for personal residences. However, this is a commercial/business entity with vast parking areas. You’d have to post initially that they are not allowed to park or trespass. If I have commercial property in the city I can’t have you car towed for being on my property without giving you proper notice and just having someone say it on the news doesn’t rise to the level of notice concerning the property...I am not even going to get into the topic of arresting someone. For actual being in the parking lot, though, you need to post in multiple areas on the property. Now, should people be going? Hell no. However, I am not going to finish this by saying “just saying”, because there is a little bit more responsibility on authority’s part and commercial property owners by giving requisite notice before taking such extreme actions. Unsure why I'm being tagged here? Seems the person we'd want would be a lawyer. Seems like I saw one weighing in up-thread.

I know a lot has gone on since.....a playoff game I don’t want to think about. A lot of important social issues are in play here, but can we please focus on being smart and watching our Bills win? The differences of opinions have a lot of places to be expressed. That’s all good. I just hope it won’t be in EVERY PLACE. You're right Augie... they can't stop us all!!! Let's Naruto run straight to the goal posts and tear 'em down (after we win of course) Seriously though... WE'VE GOT A GAME TOMORROW!!!! 1 1

Is that difficult to understand? Second, “loot a store and score some sneakers?” Really? I don’t think we have to take a large leap to determine where those comments come from, if that’s your first reaction to hearing that trespassers at the football stadium are breaking the law. I’m not going to pretend to know anything about you other than you visit a football message board, but words like those don’t exactly paint a pretty picture of what is in your heart. I mean is it actually private property tho? Dont tax payer dollars pay for everything. That should make it public property and open to tax payers

Executive Law Section 24. This power is not necessarily limited to public property. Though privately owned, a place of public accommodation would certainly be covered. Does the closure have to be posted with signage or is public announcement sufficient?

I’ll refer back to my original comment that the schtick isn’t playing well and if that makes me rude, so be it.

Kmart128 Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 If we call it a peaceful protest then trespassing is allowed apparently nowadays....

That should make it public property and open to tax payers It is publicly owned but it's leased with specific terms for specific purposes. Which I believe makes it function legally as private property Public property is not necessarily universally "open to tax payers" even if it normally is. For example, for several months all the parks (100% public property) in St Louis County Missouri were closed to the public. The major city parks were open, but with modifications - many streets closed to vehicular traffic, for example. I do think they had signs saying "park closed" on the barriers blocking streets off, though, so that might be a point. 1 hour ago, Rochesterian Bills Fan said: This thread is a ***** show.
