I lived in Sarasota longer than anywhere else in my life, almost two decades. I left WNY for college at 17. If my dreams come true, we’ll have a place there again before too long, with a place in the NC mountains to help my wife avoid the heat that she hates so much.....that I happen to LOVE!  It’s a bit of a mixed marriage, but a great one.

I live in NC and my brother has lived in Sarasota for 2 decades.  Are you my brother?

$190 seems steep for a Dolphins game during a pandemic.

To those of you going - good luck, be safe and be well.

When I was younger, every year we would make the trek down to south florida for the Bills game.  We usually had a group of 6 or 7 guys.  About an hour before the game we would draw straws and whoever got the short straw had to walk around the parking lot looking for tickets.  Some years seats were better then others, but we never payed more than $30 per ticker.  $190 seems very steep.

Supply is so limited this just doesn't make sense of course if there is zero demand....

My guess is there is close to zero demand:

- People don't go to Dolphins games anyway

- Weather in hot in Miami in September

- People are afraid

- Many who aren't afraid don't want to wear a mask in the heat for 3 hours, deal with assigned gate entry, etc.

- Others would rather stay home due to a lack of stadium environment with limited attendance

Add all that up and demand is low.  With that said, I will be flying to Miami and going to the game - probably won't buy my ticket until the day before.

Ahhh...nobody mentioned that Miami is a virus hotspot......a quick trip to Miami isn't a great idea in that regard.  I think that partially accounts for the dropping price of tickets.  In fact, all of Florida has lots more virus than in NY.  Of course, they also have fewer businesses going out of business because they are staying open and can have outside dining 12 months.  Your choice.....of course, being very legal, if you travel in from NY State, you have to quaranteen for 14 days.  I wonder how you do that and go to the game.  You can't really.  Yes, NY, NY and Conn are still on the Florida quaranteen list.  Not to mention having to quaranteen two weeks when you get back to Buffalo.   Ahhhh...just forgetaboutit.

I’ve passed on free tickets this early in the season in Florida. Too blazing HOT!!! And I’m a guy who would play tennis at noon in August in Sarasota. Something about sitting there cooking makes it rough for me. God bless those of you who make it! Make some noise and bring home a win!

Funny. I played a lot of tennis at noon in Sarasota , and Bradenton, in July and August in my youth. Bollettieri Academy (IMG now) stole perfectly good swimming time away from my childhood.

Miami is a hotspot, as is most of FL thanks to our glorious leadership down here.

Don't get me wrong; I think you can throw on a mask, avoid people, and sit in a football stadium for 3 hours and not get covid.

Yeah Florida wouldn't be my first choice for fans to be back in the stadium.

I'm in Palm Beach County and it's still hotter than hell down here with massive humidity.

It's literally hard to breathe, it is just so stuffy outside.

This area is glorious from like November to March.  March is the best month of the year IMO, like Buffalo in summer.

Anyway, I don't blame you for not wanting to die in the heat/humidity with 12,000 people watching a football game.

I’m from Mississippi I hear you loud in clear on that humidity just saying. Go bills

I fly every month from VA to BUF to physically check on parents & visit my sisters.
Until Aug, there were no questions. In Aug I filled out a paper form & this weekend I did it electronically. No checks on any of it. I simply said I was not from a hotspot area which is true where I live in VA, though right now VA is one of 37 states on NY’s restricted list.

No one is stopping you from entering nor escorting you to a quarantine hotel. But obviously, if you think you have been exposed during your travel then be responsible and quarantine.
i have stated in other posts that I find air travel safer than going into a grocery store or home supply store. I only book flights on regional jets where there is a single seat row. I have yet to sit next to anyone on a flight and I have not seen anyone without a mask on any of my flights.

With a few teams allowing fans, it brings the risk of virus transmission back to the visiting teams market if your unlucky enough to catch it while traveling.

I think it’s a lot more than a few teams. Isn’t it every market except Orchard Park and San Francisco where there are local restrictions? Do any teams have their own restrictions? Not sure of this.

People are still traveling, albeit much less. There is plenty of opportunity for this to get spread around.

Having said that, I’m still ticked that Feliciano is not allowed on the sidelines. Other teams can have 20k fans sharing the concourses and restrooms, but an injured player they spend all week with can’t be on the sidelines with them for a few hours?  Not happy about that, and I’m glad he’s unhappy too. I like a guy who wants to be with his guys.
