No way both get signed. Bills will sign Edmunds and let Milano walk.

Agree. They will need to pay White and Allen to keep the core together. Only so much to go around and I like Milano, just think he's going to be odd man out

I thought there was a chance before the COVID-19 stuff. With the cap dropping it will be difficult.

4 year deal worth 58 mill. 14.5 per year.

As Matt Milano watches

Different tier player in my opinion, but it is a good number to reference.  I was thinking 10 for Milano, now I’m wondering if he gets 12.

I think it all depends on how much he likes playing in Buffalo, in McDs scheme and alongside Edmunds.  He’s probably going to have to give us a sizable discount in order to retain him.  I think 9 is ideal for us and 10 is the highest Beane may go if that much.  McD and his scheme seems to make every Lb look pretty good

I think we sign both. Edmunds also has the 5th year option to consider. He won't need to be signed until a couple years after Milano.

Milano may take a discount too. He did say he wasn't interested in playing anywhere else.

Milano is, and was, always looking at $14M ish? Does it get done? Who knows. He isn’t signing for $8m or $10M as some people hoped.

I've been thinking $12 mil. But we'll see.

Yeah, I’m not sure I’d pay him $14m but someone is in this market. He stacks up favorably to guys getting that. If I’m his agent that’s my floor. I could see him taking a little less for the Bills but not much.

I’ll be shocked if we pay him that much.  Retaining our own is important, but he’s just not worth that kind of money imo.  Maybe if he would’ve tackled Watson instead of bouncing off of him.

If that is the market then you let him walk. Tag him for a year if you want to give another off-season to find his replacmemt. Small guys like him fade fast. Don't commit long term money to him.

The only way to keep Edmunds, Milano, and White is if Allen is a bust. If that is the case then Beane and McD will have bigger issues to deal with.

Why would Milano take a discount? No way, unless the weak market forces him to which could happen. Might not be a lot of money out there next season.

Beane said there will be players they want to sign but can't. Who else would you describe as one of those players?

I guess we'll have to see where the cap is next year. They could always push money into the future also. I guess it's possible, but as Beane said he can't sign everyone.

The question I have with FA is what happens if the season is cut short? If they play 8 games, will this count as an accrued season? Plus, I would think there’s going to be a lack of good data for a good handful of future FAs and they may be forced to take a discount. I don’t think Milano would be one of those, but I could see this shaving a million off per year. He’s very good, but he’s not a game changer. Edmonds isn’t either, but hopefully he gets there soon.

I actually think tagging him is realistic

Isn’t Cunningham the dude that made the huge hit on Josh Allen after Mitch Morse and Dawson Knox ran by him.

Thinking about that play drives me nuts

no idea why people think milano is going to cost so much. he has received no accolades, was a mid-late round pick, and has some injury history. hes very signable.

This is a fair take. I will point to the fact that the D struggled some when he was out last year. That’s also due to a very steep drop off from Milano to the backups. Then there is the fact that McDermott’s D has always used two good agile versatile LB’s to operate most efficiently.
I would let the year play out and see how Matt does. If Milano can stay healthy and have another strong year then you have to try and sign him. The cap has everything thrown off. So who knows.

Maybe this is a good sign though. Houston signed Tunsil to that crazy contract but it didn’t seem to have much impact on the Dawkins deal.

I wouldn't go to crazy on this-- O'Brien is a bad GM

Bad GMs set the market price too high for non premium positions and then get fired (see- CJ Mosley)
