PromoTheRobot Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 (edited) I'm watching a game right now where videos of actual fans are being shown in the stands instead of cardboard cutouts. http://amp.awfulannouncing.com/soccer/univision-tudn-liga-mx-footage-actual-fans.html Edited August 30, 2020 by PromoTheRobot
poblano Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Why you're watching mexican soccer? Is the poorest quality in all sports (not just soccer) around the world (and I'm Mexican and always cheers for my local team) 1

Johnny Hammersticks Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 They were doing the same when I watched the Bucks-Magic game last night. I thought it was pretty cool ??♂️ 1
PromoTheRobot Posted August 30, 2020 Author Posted August 30, 2020 Goooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaallllllllll! 1
Seasons1992 Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 The NBA was doing this for Game 1. It's not the greatest, but it's still better than no games at all.
BillsFanForever19 Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 (edited) This isn't anything new. The NBA have been doing it with their games. The WWE has a "Thunderdome" version of it where each screen is positioned in a seat creating rows in the arena. Better than nothing. Edited August 30, 2020 by BillsFanForever19
LeGOATski Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 I bet some teams will do this. I'd be kinda surprised if they didnt.
SoCal Deek Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 With today’s technology the networks can simply ‘photoshop’ a crowd in the stands. It’ll be way cheaper.
teef Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 i saw this about a month ago, and though it was one of the better ways of dealing with no fans. it looked entertaining.

I thought it was pretty cool ??♂️ During one of the lakers games there was a fan who realized he was "sitting" next to a very attractive woman. He put his arm up like he was putting it around her and you could see him smugly smiling while doing it. I laughed harder at that then I should have. 1
billsfan89 Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 The WWE and the NBA have similar "virtual fan" setups. The NBA's are harder to see due to how they are placed (which I think is actually better) while the WWE's are more omnipresent. I think for the NFL they should consider a different approach as to how to fill that space. I don't hate the virtual fans but there has to be something better.
