I got pulled over for speeding friday night. I admit I was speeding, although not on purpose, Anyway, I was very respectful to the officer and he was very respectful to me. He asked me for my license and I obliged. I was fortunate to drive away with only a warning. It was all very civil.

"physically resistant subject"

there were about 10 cops there and 1 guy holding a "knife". why can't you admit dogs are trained better than police in america. there was no reason to pull out a weapon and fire it.

So which of the 10 police officers should have volunteered to wrestle the knife away from him after he refused to drop it?

Not on purpose

Have to say I haven't used that one and I've had a lot of opportunities.

Glad it was civil and you only received a warning.

Yup. That’s usually how it goes! Glad to hear about the warning!

why can't you realize that not all people have this privilege

If I get stopped I do everything I can to put the officer at ease. Hands on the wheel and informing her/him what I'm doing, such as getting in my glove box for the registration. After that the subtle begging comes in to play. If I was speeding I'll bemoan the fact that I do a lot of driving for a living and can't take the points. Invariably I'll get a lesser charge such as not wearing a seat belt or in one case an obstruction on the windshield which happened to be a radar detector. We laughed about how good that radar detector did me and he informed me at what mile point the next trap might be.

You have to learn to capitalize.

You're right.  Young white men in Subaru WRX STi's with 6" diameter tailpipes speeding in a subdivision might not get the same consideration.

Can we make it OK for police to beat those guys?  Or just anyone in general?

Personally, I think your argument is what I would expect to hear in a 4th grade classroom.

Using your logic, the 15th or 20th or 300th time I saw or read about a black male suspect assaulting a white male victim,  I would be forced to assume that there is a systemic and societal epidemic of the sort you see with the police.   Yet, here I am, 58 years old, not even a cross word from a black male after all this time.

Then again, I could make the same argument that pretty much anyone other than me is out to victimize me, at least based on your cell phone tells the story philosophy.

As for “a couple smacks with a baton” theory, that argument is sillier than the first.  Your argument is best summarized as you magnanimously would risk the lives of each and every officer involved.

FYI a couple smacks with a baton can be fatal.

You’re an odd little man.  I have no idea what this means.

Yeah, all those cops were in mortal danger when 7 bullets went into a man's back. The cop who tried to execute a man is a hero to you because the victim was black.

It's sort of fun watching racists reveal themselves.

Usually how it goes? It’s way more than usually. There are thousands and thousands of traffic stops all over this country every day and almost none of them end up with anyone being shot, let alone killed.

That's white privilege.

Conversely he's a hero to you because he got shot.  Despite being a violent felon who fought with the police and was told not to go to his car, and who didn't even die.

Resisting arrest

running to your car to get a weapon

those are the big ones that justify it.
The fact that he’s a sexual assaulter/rapist is just a bonus.

You have a pretty warped view of justification.  Last I looked, resisting arrest doesn’t justify seven gunshots to the back.

Did I call him a hero?

He didn't even die?

You must be very disappointed.

You're pathetic.
