The way the league has handled the virus and their planning has been a downright joke. the fact that the league is too scared to come out and ban fans for the next season so they don't get backlash from their conservative fanbase is embarrassing.

How are some teams allowed to bring in fans but others aren't? How is that even remotely fair? Just ban fans all together until it is safe to do otherwise.

Is there even a plan for this? It is just a total mess right now. I don't see the league finishing this season with the way its going right now. players testing positive left and right in training camp, what happens when games start and teams are constantly traveling? There are way too many moving parts in football to get this done properly in this environment.

Yeah, the whole FOUR players (out of almost 2,600) on Covid-IR is a real embarrassment for the league.

Why would you ban all fans when you don't need to?  To the OP, look no further than the money.  It is always and will ALWAYS be about the money.  That is the plan.  Squeeze as much revenue out of this for as long as they can.

It seems plausible fans can attend games if the state allows it and precautions are put in place.

Hey now, some guy in the 300 section may sneeze and give Josh Allen COVID from 150 feet away.

You would been better off making your point if you were apolitical.

players aren't the only ones that get covid. there are so many staff members that work directly with the team that can spread it.

Just my take, not a comment on Covid itself at all. I couldn’t care less if I can go to game this season. After spending 40 hours a week wearing a mask, I’d rather sit in front of the tv watching the Bills in comfort.

All teams should allow limited capacity fans, with masks and temp checks at the gate.

I don’t get how you make the mask thing really work though. Are they going to ban food and drinks ? How would they determine when you are or aren’t eating ? Who enforces all of this ? I don’t see who would be stopping fans from loading up on a bunch to eat during the game, so they could keep the mask off. I’d be like the restaurant rule. They’d almost need to just sit people six feet apart, and only require masks in the concourse imo.

Besides from the temp checks & limited capacity, if teams are going to allow fans to attend, i think they should have a stipulation written in fine print on the back of the ticket, that you accept responsibility for your own self & don't hold the team liable if you do get covid. For the States where the outbreak is largely controlled, i don't see why they can't have fans attend, even if it is just in limited capacity

I think you are right- when in your seat you must be 6 ft from anyone elses party. It can be done but 20k fans outdoors does not have the same impact as 70k.

You are amazingly short sighted and oblivious. You think it is "Conservative" people who want freedom? I have been the Disney and Universal this month and both are full of people. Normal smart people want to be able to do go out and have fun, which is not a political issue.

I am announcing that effective immediately the NFL will cease allowing political b.s. to substitute for a clear and coherent strategy for dealing with the impact of the COVID virus.

I’d like to personally thank Buffalo Bills fan Penfield45 for providing the impetus and direction for this long overdue change.  This once again highlights the importance of the fans when setting priorities and direction of policy for the NFL.

They need a protocol that's the same for all 32. Agreed. Disagree on the no fans but all about some social D ball.

The only issue with making a blanket policy for all 32 is that a few states will block any fans, so if the league has a policy it will not be able to be applied across the board

C’mon guy.  This is about the only thing that matters in this country anymore - money.

Why do you think the NCAA has banned all other sports other than football? We were more than willing to watch 19 year old “student athletes”  run around and give each other brain damage no questions asked during normal times.  You think a pandemic is going to stop the NFL or NCAA from getting their paws on every penny they can get?
