4 kickers on the 53 ?  what a joke.   sure , keep an extra 2 kickers in case a starter goes down, , but not on the 53.   the rules say you can  bring a guy up practically on game day if the starter tests positive.

Guess you never heard of the “drop kick”. Our goal is to score more points. Edwards can do that. Bojo secures field position. Win win.

You serious, Clark?

Yeah, I don't remember the poll... Also, im surprised there isn't more k dumping, tbh. Like with that one QB guy who was traded with picks for later round picks to the Browns some time ago.

If all 53 could dress out.... it may be something to look into.... but I think only 46 or 47 dress out.  That being said, skill positions take priority 100%.

Didn't the league raise it to 48? Maybe if the game roster includes 8 OLINEMEN?

George (can I call you George?) - I’ll say it again: Points (FG’s) and field position (deep accurate punts) win football games. Why wouldn’t you maximize the likelihood of both by retaining more of those position players at the expense of two or three cans of tomato soup (7th CB or 8th Olineman).

LOL! Please don't "call me", period.  Are you new to football? Or just one of those self-proclaimed stats geeks who thinks he has come up with a prize-winning theory? Kickers and punters are fsiy easy to find and add to a roster if necessary. Carrying 2 of each on the 53 is insane and depletes depth at other positions. Go crunch  numbers on THAT

He was foolishly let go and immediately signed by Super Bowl runnerup San Francisco.  The 49ers know what it takes to win in this league and it takes a franchise long snapper.

No,he actually y played two years for Tampa Bay then THEY cut him. He only lasted a month in SF.  He's available, and you know, you gotta have special teams depth

2 Ks and 2 Punters? Brilliant....do we a snapper for each as well?

You bet Nuciforo, amd lets start a daily training camp thread for every player so we can have 81 threads to read per day.

Kickers are so easy to find that some teams replaced kickers multiple times last year.

It is easy to find kickers.  It is hard to find good, consistent kickers.

Not that I agree with keeping Bojangles.

If we can squeeze it in - i like keeping bass and Hauschka .  Love Bass as the future - but its risky right now.  If we cut hauschka - and Bass shows rookie problems - we're in trouble.  I'd rather keep the insurance policy on the roster now.

Its possible the NFL will grant roster expemptions.  Gotta expect some COVID issues will come up.

The "Process," thus far has led to zero playoff wins.  I no longer trust it and I think going at it from a different angle makes sense.  The current run, run, pass, punt "process," has been wildly unsuccessful.

Time to think outside the box.

Would a better kicker or punter have prevented the refs from negating that TD in the Houston game?

Letting the kicker attempt a FG instead of stupidly calling plays that got us out of FG range would have been a cute twist.

Sounds like you don't want to win keeping all those ST players for no good reason.

A 57-yard FG?  Was never going to happen.

They could have gotten closer.

AND, you just made my point.  This s why it makes sense to keep a long-range FG specialist in addition to Haushka..

A play was called, Josh got 4 yards and a bogus penalty was called on it, pushing them out of FG range.  If the penalty hadn't been called, it would have still been a 53 yard FG.  Are betting your season on a guy making a 53 yard FG?  In hindsight, sure.

Any reports on whether this guy is a Glove Wearing Mary?

We can re-imagine the onsides kick under the new rules. Hear me out, two kickers running in a circle together, and you just don't know when or where they're gonna kick it!

We could have all 4 back there doing a square dance and when no one is looking, the Steelers guy can kick the ball.
