Is Garrison Sanborn available to snap the ball ?

He was foolishly let go and immediately signed by Super Bowl runnerup San Francisco.  The 49ers know what it takes to win in this league and it takes a franchise long snapper.

Missed 55 yd field goals = Gift to the opposing offense.

Bad punt = Gift to opposing offense.

If you excel at skill players on ST (by reducing number of depth players at CB or OL for instance) you increase your chances of winning based on the theorum I wrote below:

ST Player1, ST Player2, ST Player3, ST Player4 x .50 (50% increase in convertible field position points) - CB4 x OL4 = 33% Increase in Points

I see someone stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night

Let go by Tampa and picked up by 49ers.

Right because that old Tampa regime didn't know what they had.  San Francisco recognizes talent and rode Sanborn all the way nearly winning a championship in the process.

And before any of you idiots starts in with "but, bbb, but, but...Jauronimo....he only played in 3 games in..in, in....2019????" ; well, John Cazale only acted in 5 movies and those 5 movies are The Godfather, The Conversation, The Godfather II, Dog Day Afternoon, and The Deer Hunter all of which were nominated for best picture.  Watch the friggin tape!!!!

We all can agree, NFL games are won and lost by field position and points. A bad punt can leave your defense with a short field.  A missed 55 yd field goal - no points.

This team is ready to win, and winning requires good field position and points.

Keep Bass as our long field goal kicker...anything over 50 yards, he comes on the field.

Keep Hauschka for the 20-40 yd field goals...he's money.

Keep Bojorquez for shorter punts when you need the ball placed inside the 15 yd line or when there's a southeasterly wind at the stadium (to crate a cross wind with his left foot).

Keep Edwards for longer punts and drop kicks. He's Australian and they utilize the drop kick a lot in that league. Would be a nice wrinkle for the Bills and can score points.

Thoughts?

So what position group are you going to go short on to keep 4 kickers???   The answer is resounding NO

But what if House money is better at the 20-40 yarders but Bass is better at the longer ones???

My first comment was as a joke, but why are people ignoring the 40-49 yard range when assessing these 2 kickers?

No way on two punters, Bojo or Edwards should be good enough, I don't see either one being a good complement to each other. Bass and Hauch might be interesting if Bass can be a kickoff specialist and take on deeper kicks. I could see them doing two kickers but not two punters.

Ideally you'd keep 6 kickers in the event that the ball gets spotted on the opposite hash. Two punters, one right-footed short field goal specialist, one right-footed long field goal specialist, one left-footed short field goal specialist, and one left-footed long field goal specialist.

Remember the tantrums around here over the bills having a 'Kickoff Specialist'?

Now they are going to keep an extra kicker and an extra punter?

I was thinking the same thing as the OP, only with the WRs on the roster. If we want to win this year, we have to keep them all. Each will be used in special situations.

Cole Beasley - Anytime we need a quick slant for a 1st down. Also, anytime we want a player to high-step in into the endzone with a TD on National TV.

John Brown - 50-yard bombs and longer.

Gabriel Davis - Also, bombs and he can tell the DB at the line of scrimmage, "I smoked Tre in practice with this one."

Stefon Diggs - We go to him whenever pure greatness is called for on a particular play.

Robert Foster - Used whenever we need a WR to drop an easy one to instill a false sense of confidence in the opposition.

Isaiah Hodgins/Isaiah McKenzie - Used as a tandem when we want to run the old "High/Low, Mutt and Jeff" trick play. Also, McKenzie gets all of the end arounds.

Andre Roberts - Return kicks only and takes WR reps when 5 or more of the other WRs go on IR.

Duke Williams - He will appease the Canadian fan base and will be there to temper expectations in the post-season.

I'm guessing the original post in this thread was a joke. This season, of all seasons, every single roster spot is needed. There is no way the Bills sacrifice depth to keep more than 1 kicker and 1 punter.

I can be talked into keeping both Hauschka and Bass given that there's no preseason and it's a lot to just throw someone who's never kicked in the NFL straight into regular games. That and if we cut him, someone would just pick him up. He wouldn't make it to our Practice Squad.

As for 2 Punters, why? If something happens to Edwards or Bojorquez - i'm fairly positive we could sign the other back or find someone of comparable skill without issue.

OMG. One of the most ridiculous posts EVER. You'll get called on it and come back, claiming it was a joke. Too many other positions need depth, so Bills will keep 1 kicker and 1 punter, period.
