machine gun kelly Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Buff, we’ll probably get some release today. My guess is they held him for observation, they have to see what is his hemoglobin, and the other factors from bleeding. He probably received a unit of blood and created a treatment plan. I know some people are not which is fine, but I said a prayer for the guy. 1

JESSEFEFFER Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I have been paying attention to the Browns in their camp due to TE Stephen Carlson and Kevin Johnson has been a camp standout. Tough break for him.
eball Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Bad things happen to those who leave 'the process"... All kidding aside, that's a scary, freak injury and I hope he fully recovers.
RaoulDuke79 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Didn't Roscoe Parrish have the same injury?

Now that I think about it, it may have happened when he played with the Hurricanes in college. He was fun to watch back in the day.
GreggTX Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Get well, Kevin. You just never seem to catch a break on the football field. Sorry to hear about this.

FireChans Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 For the "they are risking their life!" guys, that's 1 player in the "hospitalized due to football" column and 0 in the "hospitalized due to COVID" column. Will this lead prove insurmountable?

While there is not a solid consensus, even a subcapsular hematoma (which is not as severe as any grade of laceration) would keep an athlete out of full contact sports 2-3 months. And serial CT scans are not indicated for follow up in an asymptomatic patient.
DCofNC Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Good news that he should be able to carry on, the guy has had zero luck in his career with injuries. He is talented and by all accounts a good guy, hope it works out for him.
