H2o Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Feel sorry for the players who are affected, but I never really watched it myself.

Da webster guy Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I thought it was cancelled after Flutie left three decades ago. 1 2

BananaB Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Most likely to keep the American players out of the country 1 3
WhoTom Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 tl;dr version: The CFL doesn't have fat TV contracts, so they rely on ticket sales. If you can't fill the stadium, you can't make any money. 8
HomeTeam Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 As a fellow Canadian, that's unfortunate eh but ultimately the right call. I'm fine with calling 2020 a wash and starting up again in 2021 when things settle. 3

Mike in Horseheads Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I like the CFL games, but they had covid issues with American players and no fans they were doomed this year. As was said upstream they also don't have a zillion $$$ TV contract

If you can't fill the stadium, you can't make any money. The thing is.... I’d watch CFL any day of the week now. Except Sundays. Theres no football happening this year. Seems like this could be a positive for the CFL.
