I was watching NFL network today and heard one guy mention that draft picks would be devalued.   That now would be the time to trade a 1 for a proven player.    Just food for thought, but how much more of a crap shoot will the 21 draft be.   Its kind of like one of those first round mock drafts for the following year that come out the day after the draft ends.   Its not real accurate.   Then to think the pressure it will put on scouting departments, how to evaluate players with little game tape.  How many top guys will opt out of the spring because they dont want to play a college season and pro season in the same year.    On the flip side, a opportunity to find some gems in later rounds.

This will give the better organizations an advantage. I happen to LOVE our front office. I like our chances to benefit, if it’s possible that anything good can come of this mess.

It's going to be an absolute mess and crap-shoot.  Only those that have done their homework for YEARS will benefit, and it seems our guys are pretty dang good.  Now is the time that will separate the pretenders from the contenders, when it comes to the college-scouting departments.

Oh, to add - they'll have to take into question character THAT MUCH MORE right now, if some of the players opt-out.  They'll have to figure out those that have the want-to to play, versus those looking for the pay-day.  Should be pretty easy to figure out, but it'll mean that much more this time.

Spring seasons are not happening, no matter what the Big Ten thinks. The nightmare for scouts is a situation where, as looks likely two or three conferences play and everyone else doesn't. How much weight do you place on that tape?

Do you guys think Trevor Lawrence could get a haircut, go unrecognized and drop to the 4th?

If all of this crap happened a year ago, where would Burrow have been picked?

We're not moving back in the first round with KC again.  Period.

5th or later, if at all.

A related question is, if the NFL cancels its season or just plays a few games, how will the draft order be set?  Just use the order from this year?  Use the results from a few games?

If it plays it will use whatever standings it has. The NFL is going to find a way to 'finish' its season IMO.... even if in reality that means they suspend in say late October and come back in February to play the playoffs based on the standings at the point of suspension.

GM Joe Douglas has his work cut out for him. Two of the three draft picks the Jest received from the Seahawks in the Jamal Adams trade come in 2021...1st Round & 3rd Round. The remaining 1st Round pick comes in 2022 but they are also sending a 4th Round pick Seattle's way in 2022. The football gods love the Jest. ?

And he will be starting again with a new Head Coach and new offensive system with his potential franchise QB going into year4 of his rookie deal and a decision needing to be made on him longer term.

The Jets at the moment are suffering from what the Bills suffered from for years. Institutionally there just is not a culture that is conducive to winning and there seems to be a lack of organisation understanding of, or commitment to, what it takes to be successful. If they had fired their previous GM when they fired Bowles and had hired Douglas and let him run the coaching search they'd be in a much better position. Joe Douglas is a smart cookie. He is about the best thing to happen to that franchise in at least a decade. But he was brought into a mess, handcuffed to a failure of a Head Coach, inherited some bad FA contracts and then was not given the freedom to really do the job. The Jets last season had a talented roster - but with Enunwa heading for retirement, Roby Anderson and Jamal Adams gone and Mosely opting out it looks much thinner now. They will be starting again with a new Head Coach in 2021. That decision is going to be one they simply cannot afford to get wrong.

Wrecks wants to know if he gets a ring for being 'First Past HC'.  Sort of like they list in service clubs (Lions, Kinsmen, IOOF).  Will go well with the one from being fifth assistant defensive coach for the Ravens.
