Please don't answer al the reasons why Trump sucks.  This is a serious question.  How does Harris help the ticket?

  1. Seedy past with allegations of adultery.  Check
  2. History of hard-handed prosecution of minorities.  Check
  3. Already trashed Biden in primaries about racial issues.  Check
  4. Does not meet racial criteria (Jamaican, Indian) most African-Americans could identify with.  Check
  5. Does not adhere to socialist agenda many other Democrats support.  Doesn't feel the Bern, Squad.  Check
  6. Comes across generally nasty, in a way that cost Hillary the office.  Check.
  7. Not from Midwest to help with swing states.  Check.
  8. Likely scares the crap out of anybody worried about 25th amendment invocation.  Check.

All weapons Trump can and will use.  Who does the Dems research and vetting?

biden’s team wanted someone who would rock the boat least while also being a black female.

Biden is banking on people voting out trump rather than voting in Biden.

Maybe!  But I tried to find the post through the search function, but it is broken (which is really annoying for a lot of reasons).  And I cannot manually find it.  So I'll stop posting it.  Since you owned up to something.

Ok, a few things on the search function here... which is less than optimal - make sure you are only searching within the sub-forum. If the thread has not been bumped in XX time (I "think" it is 6 months, but I have not delved deeply into it), go to google (unfortunately, google works best for this) and put in as much as you can recall that might be unique keywords and twobillsdrive.

So the search on google would look something like:

tulsi gabbard twobillsdrive

Or:

clive bundy twobillsdrive

You should end up with an appropriate thread. Since you are looking for a very specific post, this "trick" may not work for you this time, but keep it in mind for the future.

The honest, and serious answer to this question is Clinton. Harris was the Clinton machine's candidate in the early days. The Clinton and Obama political machines (meaning their lieutenants) do not get along nor play nice with one another -- but they are the sacred cows of the establishment political class. Thus they had to be represented on the ticket. What that means is that there was no serious research and vetting, there was no true consideration for their voters. This is the most DC establishment ticket they could possible come up with -- which is exactly how they arrived at their decision.

Establishment over the People. That's what truly matters to them. And that's why it's endlessly ironic to see the same posters and voters who have spent the past three+ months protesting against the system created by the establishment now falling into line behind one of the primary architects of that establishment (Biden) and a puppet for the Clinton machine.

It's a game to them. And they only care about winning for themselves, not their constituents.

A meaningful life/job does not, nor should it not, interfere with the amount of free time you have.  Your time is yours and if you allow others to dictate it you're lost.  Why I hated working from home during the early days of the pandemic.  My time was not mine.  My home and office all of a sudden became intertwined.  Now that I'm back in the office full time (and have been for a couple months) when I am not at work my emails are off.  Not sure if you do but if you read your work emails during your off time you are allowing others, those that email you, to dictate your time.  Don't let them.

Interesting how I said "meaningful job" and you responded "meaningful life".

no you also said a life.  Not having a life doesn’t mean being dead, it means not having a meaningful life.

but anyways.  My job unfortunately is round the clock, but I’ll like leave it with the next five years or so.  It’s not terrible but I don’t love the unavoidable interference

I was just talking with a co-working about these exact same things. I said "did they even think about this stuff?"   When he came out with the woman of color thing he greatly limited his choices.   Biggest mistake ever.  Imagine any other industry where you picked you team based on their color and gender. I've been scratching my head for a long time on this one and I hope you on the left are too.

eh I agree they wanted the most establishment ticket possible.  It is how we have Biden of all people.  But obviously a lot of vetting and consideration of how it will impact votes was given

I can't imagine any job that is on 24/7.  I assume you're young.  No career is worth interfering with your life to the point where it has no meaning.  Why would you subject yourself to that?

There was definitely some consideration given, especially if you buy into the angle that until the 11th hour Biden was ready to pick Warren (per the Beltway rumor mill). Per those rumors it wasn't until his gaffe about all black people being the same that he switched to Harris. I'm not sure about that, considering the leaked profiles about Kamala being the pick a few weeks back (I think those pre-dated the gaffe? Not sure though). I personally don't think Warren would have helped him much, she's as flawed as Kamala, but at least she polled higher than 10% in her own state and won actual delegates in the primaries before she folded up her tent.

But there was no way the Clinton machine (again, meaning her people/lieutenants) weren't going to get a major seat at the table with Biden as the front runner.

So we have a Presidential candidate who people say will drop out (or be replaced) before the election or will resign before his term is up if elected and a Vice Presidential candidate that dropped out before Iowa.  What a couple of bulldogs the Dems have in this extremely important fight.

I don’t think and of the options that were female were going to help him, but he obviously limited himself tot hat small pool.  Abrams and whitmer are crazier than kamela.  Warren would have helped him gain the most, but also make him lose the most votes (and who knows the net effect).  Klobachar is less nutty and probably safer than kamela, but no one likes her enough for to get a go nominee.

I would be surprised if Biden finishes his first term.  He is losing it fast.

So why are the Dems allowing him to run?  President is a 4 year (minimum) commitment.

because they don’t care and just want trump out of office with an establishment president.  You can decide the ethics of that.

I truly think a lot of people on this board are extremely underestimating how many people will be voting to get trump out of office, and have a return to “normalcy.”  Even if that normalcy is an old guy losing it

Ben Shapiro's podcast was fantastic today.  He said Trump needs to essentially run against Kamala now.  This was a gift because everyone knows that she is in line to be POTUS either 4 months into a Biden term or 4 years.  It's easier to run against her then Biden.  And it is her positions they are running against.  Joe doesn't even care.  He knows the deal here.

Ben played some soundbites from her debates and interviews.....the clip where she accused Biden of being a segregationist that should apologize.  He went thru her history with Willie Brown.  Her abuses of power in CA.  Faking a tough on crime position in order to run for Senate by busting low level drug offenders.....as she cackles annoyingly to an interviewer that asked her if she ever smoked pot.  She supports infanticide.  She supports Medicare for all.  And she loves cheeseburgers but (everytime they say "but" it means they didn't really mean what they just said) we need to really consider how much we consume.  She favors a ban on plastic straws (cackles annoyingly about it).

She thinks the government can do anything (when Biden himself responded to her saying you can't just do EOs on anything--in this case gun control-she responds with an Obama "how about just yes we can.")

And speaking of Obama, she has the arrogance, pompousness, and condescension he has.....but minus all charisma.

She is an idiot.  Low info idiot.  Pence is going to absolutely obliterate her you're going to witness a live murder on TV.

They know it to so they'll just make sure she gets at least 1 or 2 pre planned soundbites off to a response they know they'll get from Pence (assist from Candy Crowley style) on religion or abortion.  And the media will call it a phenomenal job.

I know quite a few people who don't like Trump, at all, but are gonna vote for him anyway because of his record of job creation, law and order, the military, border security, putting America first. You don't have to like him to vote for him.

There was a time an old white fella with a penchant for grabbing goodies not belong to himself could get into trouble for suggesting he was on the hunt for a young JamIndian lady to work under him.  Now, it's the Democrat platform.
