Boatdrinks Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 The last few days of good weather has me in a summer mood. If you were going to make a CD of beach tunes, what would you include? I'm looking for songs in the vein of: -Sloop John B - The Beach Boys - Under the Boardwalk - The Drifters - Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffet 310307 Ahhh, beach tunes. If I were making that CD it would be: * Jimmy Buffett- Boat drinks, Manana, One particular harbor, Barometer soup, coconut telegraph.(though any Buffett will certainly do) * Bob Marley- Legend CD (with bonus tracks) * BuJu Banton- BuJu and friends * Bunny Wailer - retrospective * Lucky Dube-Captured Live * Sweet Soca Rhythms -various artists. Mix and match any of the tunes from these discs. Of course, whwn you say "beach" I'm thinkin' Virgin Islands but any old beach wil probably work.
BuffFanInATL Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I have, in fact, made a beach CD... It included many of the songs mentioned above... A few others: Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison or Jimmy Buffett Jump in the Line - Harry Belafonte (although he has many other songs that would do) Under the Boardwalk - someone mentioned the original (The Drifters), but John Mellancamp also does a killer version... Sittin On The Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding Smooth - Santana with Rob Thomas Enjoy !

Fan in San Diego Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 It's cool to hear "Spill the Wine" on the beach. It's not your typical beach song, but it works for me. Jeff Spill the Wine - War/eric Burdon 310353 Is that the one with the lyrics 'Spill wine, dig that girl '
