Tiberius Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 What’s Trump doing about this? Press conference to focus attention on this? No? 1 minute ago, Joe in Winslow said: Sanctions, up to and including blockade and cutting off food supplied by american farmers. A blockade is an act of war. You ready for WW3?

You ready for WW3? Assuming that Trump continues to stay silent on the matter then he would warrant criticism for his lack of criticism towards China. If Trump speaks up routinely would you offer Trump some degree of praise for his efforts? To be fair since you acknowledged that military action would lead to a conflict you can't expect a blockade or some other show of force. 1
Tiberius Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 Biden warns Russia, China are meddling in U.S. election Joe Biden, citing intelligence briefings he now receives, warned that both countries are actively trying to sow doubt in the U.S. electoral system. By Matt Viser Why would China want a guy in there that respects our alliances, is pro-democracy and belives in human rights? Ya, they love Trump's do-nothingism

Using the Uyghur's misery to make hay for Biden are we Tiberius?

Uyghur women are being forcibly sterilized, and entire populations are having their heads shaved, being blind folded, and loaded onto trains and taken to forced labor camps. The world is stunningly silent on the issue. I’d like to hear your thoughts. Like most human conflicts, this is ultimately about natural resources. The Xinjiang region has a lot of them that the Chinese economy badly needs. The Uyghurs are culturally very different from the Han Chinese and have been flirting with separatist movements for decades. China is doing everything they can get away with in order to make sure Xinjiang doesn’t break off into an independent country. They’ve tried mass migration of Han Chinese into the province. They’ve tried free speech suppression. Now they’re trying “re-education” camps. The CCP clearly feels that they cannot afford to lose control of Xinjiang’s natural resources. The solution? The international community needs to make it economically more favorable for China to stop this genocidal behavior rather than to let it continue in secret. Biden and Trump both could be doing a lot more to talk about this issue in public. It better be raised during one of the three scheduled presidential debates. 3

When one is accustomed to using brute force to solve problems I don't know how you get them to readily transition to another form of dealing with a problem. What do you propose to make it more favorable for China to change policy? Many lines of thought there have been in practice for many centuries. Seems like you might be seeing the problem in China through Western lenses.
