Did he turn down another contract lol, just trade the guy. He’s not worth what he’s asking for you’ve got Dalton and I’m sure you can win just as many games with him than Dak

Hot take alert - Dalton is a lot worse than Dak.

Cowboys should have yanked the tag. Negotiations would of Have been easier. No one else at this point would have 30 mill to throw at a an this year.

He would have just sat out the year and been a FA then. Do you think it’s wise for a team that 17:1 to win the Super Bowl to essentially have their franchise QB quit in late July?

The Dak hate on here is kind of hilarious. We watched him play one game and formed an opinion. A lot of that hate stems from him playing in Dallas. We look so foolish in our criticism.

He’s not elite. He’s a top 10ish QB right now. The cost for a young top 10 QB is approaching $40M a year. That’s just what it is. It’s time to accept that. We MAY be (hopefully) looking at a similar problem in a few months.

I think it stems from his down year a couple years ago. A lot of fans made up their mind then that he was only average.

But he had a pretty dang good year last year. For whatever reason some fans already had their minds made up and don't realize he has progressed a lot. He's definitely a good QB. He's just not a hall of fame caliber QB or a truly elite QB like we have become accustomed to with Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Manning, etc.

No offense but the Washington situation isn’t that complicated. Why did they buckle when the public didn’t care. They buckled because THEIR SPONSORS cared!! They were about to lose giant chunks of money and their minority owners. No one was stepping in after that. It was a financial decision.

This^^^^^

Snyder can blow off everybody, EXCEPT the ones who are paying his bills!!

I’d think he want to sign that $30 million guaranteed instead of sit out. I would.

Andy Dalton career winning percentage 52.6%. Dak Prescott career winning percentage 62.6%. Also, only one of them has a playoff win to his credit and it’s not the guy that is entering year 10.

Not sure why anyone would really be surprised. There's not much else going on in the sports world right now since we're in this no man's land of no games being played but also no real offseason news to talk about. So yeah, a top 10 QB (and specifically, a top 10 QB that fosters a ton of debate) potentially playing on the franchise tag is as close to a big story as there is right now.

I'm not really sure why anyone would be all that annoyed; it's pretty easy to just ignore the story if you want to. It's not like there's any real reason to tune into ESPN and accidentally see them discussing Dak right now.

The Dak debates are admittedly boring at this point as everything that can be said has been said many many times but I'm not mad at the media for trying to latch onto anything at all that they can talk about right now.

He had a good year last year statistically. The Cowboys were behind late in most games, and Dak padded the stats while the defense back-peddled in the 4th quarter. But his play also got them to that point, too.

He's not terrible. He's a capable, average QB in the NFL. And he should accept that pay range.

That’s not what would have happened if they “pulled the tag” as you suggested. He would have been a FA and could have went anywhere or sat out.

So you believe he would have set out this year earning $0 instead of signing a 4 year $120 million guaranteed contract?

I think he would have shopped his services. Washington and Jacksonville could have entered the picture pretty easily. Playing chicken with your 26 year-old franchise QB isn’t exactly a good strategy.

NFL teams have sponsors lining up a mile long. A NFL team can drop a sponsor and have another in 2 weeks. I'm sure they listen to their sponsors gripes but I don't think the NFL is really pressured by them.

No sponsor was stepping in to fill the void left in this situation. That wouldn’t have benefited their brand. “Washington lost FedEx because they refused to change their racist name. We look forward to filling the void left by FedEx as we support the name Redskins.” The juice isn’t worth the squeeze and I know a little something about sponsorships.

1st quarter: 133 attempts, 805 yards, 4 TDs/3 INTs

2nd quarter: 168 attempts, 1473 yards, 12 TDs/4 INTs

3rd quarter: 124 attempts, 1268 yards, 7 TDs/0 INTs

4th quarter: 171 attempts, 1356 yards, 7 TDs/4 INTs

It doesn't really look at all like he piled up his numbers at the end of games at all. The only outlier is the 1st quarter.

Or make the exact same post about Dak that some made 12 minutes earlier ?

Give the OP a break Dak and the media coverage is annoying but so is everything these days.

I said it better ?

He plays good vs bad teams and bad vs good teams. The playoffs are all good teams so even if Dak did make it to the playoffs I doubt he would be able to put together a string of good games to get to the super bowl.

It is no point giving people statistics on Dak. Opinions are set.

It’s been a long week and maybe I’m just cranky, but am I the only one completely sickened by the coverage of Dak Prescott?  My lord, the whole thing is being crammed down our throats as if he was the only QB playing this season.  Is it my total hatred of the Cowgirls, my complete dislike of Dak and Zeeke and Jones?

Tell me I’m not the only one who hates this totally overhyped player and all the BS surrounding him!

Its the Cowboys, a QB and a team that doesn’t make the playoffs is big news, mediocre is great when it’s the cowboys...
