All of this is very interesting in a wait and see kind of manner but I find myself wondering this:

Say this bombshell leads to NFL forcing a sale (I think most in league circles would be happy to be rid of Snyder) - what’s the value of a team with a bad PR situation (potentially toxic depending on what goes down with the story), no history of success, no real future on the football side, in a non-sports town, with a very successful team next door, in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and all the uncertainty that comes with?

It’s still an nfl franchise. What were the bills worth?

and short term the pandemic is a worry but as indicated by these recent signings - everyone expects to muscle through and still see huge revenue jumps with the next tv deal

team is a storied franchise with titles and a big fanbase.  Likely a 3 billion dollar tag give or take a few bucks.  Hell, Bezos says he wants to buy a team though i'd think he goes for the seahawks right?  NFL could force a sale but they're not forcing a guy to sell it for anything less than market value.

Go through his follow up comments on here too

Basically, everyone in the Org besides Mike Shanahan fell for the honeypot.

Thanks for the scoops!

I'm extremely skeptical as there is literally no reason for any mainstream news publication to sit on this story.  Not in today's era.  Sexual harassment scandals are big news and there's literally no downside to running with it. This dude saying that deadspin, of all places, wouldn't run the story is the clincher for me.

Its about access. Most of the media members that had the story knew they would lose access if they ran it.  So, sure, they get one big story, but their career is ostensibly over b/c they don't have access to the Redskins and are blackballed from the rest of the league for not playing by the rules.  This is pretty common in sports media.

Well, either this story is an absolute WHALE, or it’s shaping up to be one of the bigger disappointments in recent memory sports-story-wise.

I think one of those NFL aggregator accounts on Twitter had said that Josina Anderson said nobody wanted to say anything before WaPo publishes it because lawyers are already involved and nobody wants to get in that mess.

There are so many different stories, Im sure not all of them are true (or maybe?). But even if 1 of them is, theyre effed.

That guy is also saying Redskins security was threatening outlets who had the stories previously. So maybe that was enough to make them sit. Didnt want to lose further access and didnt have enough concrete evidence yet.

The ties to the Bruce Allen NDA expiring recently are pretty interesting. Theyre saying he's the only one who would have some of this info.

So we're clear: we're saying that these journalists have no professional integrity?

And here I've been told for three years that journalism is a high and lofty career that is above crude things like money or power.

Big difference between sports media and journalism.

Is there a more self-congratulatory field than journalism? Maybe film making, but thats about it.

Sports journalists definitely hype themselves up to think they are real journalists. Plus, real journalists are not nearly as noble as they claim to be.

Right. That was just my 2 second blurb because I'm way more interested in seeing what comes out than engaging @LeviF91 who wants to be "skepitcal" that anything bad could have gone down in the Redskins org, and somehow turn it around on "the media". ?

I have no doubt that bad ***** goes down in that organization.  I'm skeptical of the no-name twitterer who is now throwing every bad thing you can think of against the wall to see what sticks.
