davefan66 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” Hope he brought his fiddle. RIP 1
Just Joshin' Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 I saw him a few years ago as an opening act so he might have been 80. For his age he put on a good show and did not mail it in. RIP Charlie. 1
Bad Things Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 RIP Charlie. One of my favourite old memories from the 90's was swinging all those pretty Colorado gals around the dancefloor to this song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UbcAXgET8w 1
Chef Jim Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 RIP Mr Daniels. I remember seeing him at Shea's Theater in the mid 70's. We were in the balcony and it was bouncing up and down. I was certain we were going to come crashing down. One of the best shows I've been to. 1
CowgirlsFan Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 RIP Thank you for your contribution to the music industry. 1
Marv's Neighbor Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Not a big C&W fan but he was special. RIP Charlie! 1
T&C Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Nice pic of him with Duane Allman's 1957 gold top Les Paul: 2
Lurker Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 I guess the devil finally got that golden fiddle back...
PastaJoe Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 When I was a kid I heard “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” on the radio, and at some point went to the record store to buy the cassette with it. But I couldn’t remember the band name. I thought it was southern rock, and mistakenly bought a Lynyrd Skynyrd tape. ? 1
Ned Flanders Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Saw him at the Auditorium Theater in Rochester in August 1980. 1
Gugny Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 When I was out to sea whilst in the Navy, Charlie Daniels played a concert aboard the aircraft carrier in our fleet. The ship I was on drew 5 names at random to be able to attend the show. I didn't make the cut. Never got to see him. RIP. 1
CBD Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 He played at the pumpkin festival in Clarence in like 2007 or 2008. Saw him then. 1
