Who knew Bernie Sanders had some sense after all?

So many people are very upset today because Donald Trump did not explicitly commit to “a peaceful transferral of power after the election.” Bernie Sanders is outraged, too. But unlike the others, he at least seems to understand that Donald Trump doesn’t actually have the constitutional authority to transfer power in a non-peaceful way when he’s due to leave the White House:

Exactly.

So WHY ARE YOU PRETENDING IT'S A LEGITIMATE CONCERN?

So Bernie Sanders — however inadvertently it may have been — is actually telling the Resistance to slow their rolls just a bit.

It is, however, notable that Bernie Sanders citing the Constitution for the rules when he and so many progressives insist on ignoring what’s actually in the Constitution. Like the stuff about the Senate and SCOTUS confirmations, for example.

Oh well. It’s not really fair for us to expect intellectual consistency. He is Bernie Sanders, after all.

Liberals love to pick and choose what laws the follow.  "I have a phone and a pen."

Even the cult members here who scoffed at the possibility are now squarely behind it as a potential movement.

One poster swore up and down he would not back Trump if he tried it. Looking forward to his changed position and pretzel logic.

Nobody needs to concede on election night if it's close.

The constitution and presidential election statutes can handle this. The first key deadline (as in 2000) is the certification/appointment of electors. The "safe harbor" date for states to certify is not until December 8. The electoral college then meets on December 14.

The Republic survived perfectly well with votes being counted and elections certified weeks or (in the early days) months after election day as results were reported just as soon as they could arrive by horse carriage. It will survive this too.

Trump said again in the debate that if he loses he will not accept the verdict of the people.

Trump just told us all that he is a dictator.

Big surprise, eh?

It's been so long, but didn't the Clinton people take W off all the keyboards in the White House when he won? Then of course there's this picture that should end this thread (but it won't):

Obama White House: These Staffers Aren't Looking at Trump | Time

I see three people in that shot who directly contributed to the coup -- and were actively doing so when this picture was taken.

There was no peaceful transition of power in 2016. None at all.

Why were all of the people in the top photo so hateful-looking?  They KNEW they couldn't stay there another four years, right?  Why all the smug, arms-crossed, someone-pissed-in-my-post-tosties faces?

In addition to the other 'thumbs-up' type emogies I've asked for in the past, how about one that is just 'uh-huh', or 'yep'.

Because, "she was never supposed to lose". They had rigged it so she wouldn't -- yet, there they stood. Looking at an electoral miracle while they shifted their plans from election tampering to a palace coup.

Your boyfriend has to be thrilled that you're so prepared.

Always funny when people go with the homosexual stuff when we know who is most likely to head that way.

Why are you assuming Tibs' gender ID?  You got some issues?  Or you just need to defend people who are chirping about rubbing one out to someone's possible death?

Neither reflects particularly well on you but you're not really smart enough for that to matter much.
