There's nearly 10 million people who live in the Chicagoland area. If it were a state, it would rank #11 by population, just behind Michigan and in front of New Jeresey.

Chicagoland has the population of 10 Erie Counties.

Each of those shootings is a tragedy, but the idea that gang shootings in Chicago proves whatever narrative BS you think it does is asinine.

By your logic, then:

There are over 7 million contacts between police and black citizens over the age of 16 in this country each year.

There are, on average, about 10, clearly unjustified murders of black men each year, and an average of a total of 230 black men who are killed by police each year.

Each of those murders is a tragedy, but the idea that those killings proves a narrative of systemic racism in law enforcement is asinine.

EDIT: BTW, the vast majority of those shootings you referenced are not taking place throughout the "Chicagoland area." As with most cities, they are taking place primarily in the poorest neighborhoods, which are predominantly black.

And in Chicago's poorer neighborhoods there aren't many jobs so especially young people there need to find work downtown or in other parts of the city.  Trouble is that Chicago is a sanctuary city with over 100K illegal immigrants living and working there making jobs for those in the poorer neighborhoods much much harder to obtain.  Mayor after Dem mayor though won't touch that and they continue to toe the party line while Chicago residents continue to elect mayors from the same pool of stooges.

Immigrants create jobs. Just having more people creates jobs. Simple economics

Not sure what your point is.  I posted that Jackson Mississippi has the highest murder rate in that state which you mentioned in a previous post.  Jackson Mississippi is Democrat controlled.

I've been to Oxford.  Its the home of Ole Miss University.  Its a very small but very nice city. It may be classified as low income because the income is skewed because many of its residents are students?

Is there a correlation to higher crime rates?  Because Chicago/Il has one of the highest and the reason why I posted what I posted because of the Title of this thread.

Does that prove cities like Detroit, st. Louis,  Camden, Cleveland, Houston, LA aren't shittholes?

How can I forget San Francisco?

Try selling that to the parents of south side Chicago teens looking for their first job.

I like the direction that Chicago is heading. This is change I can believe in. I can't wait for Chicago to start laying off cops. Progressive in every sense.

No facts are allowed. It's not fair to the Democrats. In fact they will probably call you a racist.

Never.  Not as long as there's a way to deflect from the real problems facing the black community.
