Noooooo, I'm not saying Covid is on par with these two. Just that you are looking damn hard for stats to justify your fears. Again, if the curve has been flattened, hospitals are not overrun... WHEN will it be OK for some of you guys to get back to as close to normal as possible? You want perpetual lockdown until the virus goes away or the magical cure/vaccine has been found?
123719bwiqrb Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Just a daily reminder that we will not have an NFL season. This discussion is a good example of why. 1

This would be great if true, but even with the expanded ICU units - Texas hospitalizations are way up and % of ICU space is way down. Same with Florida, Arizona, Carolinas. The idea was to flatten the curve and then maintain some semblance of control to prevent exactly what is happening in many of these states. There is still difficulty getting proper PPE and testing supplies because US leadership decided not to centralize, but force states to compete. If they had actually shutdown and enforced social distancing in many of these places - we would see results closer to what Germany and South Korea are seeing - more isolated breakouts, but we do not enforce simple things like mask wearing and basic social distancing and therefore many states are worse off now that 2 months ago.

Some research suggest their lungs may be scared and they may never recover 100% of their functions. 1

Saxum Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 There was a reported case from Italy where 13 healthy young men on ski trip were all infected. https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2020/05/08/coronavirus-covid19-italy-ski-trip-survivor/ Quote Garfield contracted COVID-19 during the annual ski trip back in February before many people even knew about coronavirus. All thirteen members of his group were infected with the virus. When Garfield got home, he checked himself into the hospital. His doctors said he although he was incredibly healthy, the virus still hit him hard with nearly every vital organ in his body shutting down.

It's a tribute to our great country that others feel it is their duty to take care of people who think the way you do all the same.... Perhaps 100 years ago, vaccines would have been considered "magic". Well done.

Go educate yourself on how the virus spreads.
