I was chatting with someone in another forum who is planning on coming in from out of town to visit Darien Lake and go to a concert there. He said that he was planning on staying at the onsite lodging.

Anyone have experiences with this? The one obvious benefit I can think of to staying onsite is that he wouldn't have to deal with traffic on the day of the concert. Of course, the obvious alternative is staying in Buffalo. Certainly would have a larger selection of cuisine. As far as lodging, the first thing that comes to mind would be one of the hotels near the airport. That way, he could just take route 33 out to Darien Lake, which might avoid some of the traffic congestion.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

I'm not aware of any hotels on site, although there are campsites. The closest hotels I can think of are the ones at Exit 48, one stop to the east (Batavia/Albion/Attica). I think there's a Sheraton and maybe a Doubletree, but I never slow down long enough to look.

Exit 48b Pembroke where there is cheap gas!

That's 48A, and the Seneca Nation is North of the Exit if you really want cheap Gas (need to turn off the route to get there...).
