My  Ranger fan friends didn't like the firings but their biggest problem with the team is it's all talent and no grit. And they were saying that before the season started. But that's what JD and Gorton had built to date.

He sucked before he was with the Sabres and if they can manage to rid themselves of him he’ll suck wherever he goes.  He plays one of the least complete games imaginable.  He has shown nothing indicating he wants to improve.  He hangs out at the blue line waiting for the breakout pass.  He hasn’t changed and the only fault the Sabres have is having signed him.  He’s terrible.

The minute he didn’t have Eichel spoon feeding him he was done scoring.  He always sucked in every single other aspect of the game.  It’s like a golfer who can one putt every green but takes 37 shots to get to the green.  There are some incredible highlights but it doesn’t belong on the PGA tour.

Agree entirely. You can take the top 10 rated prospects, put their names in a hat, pull one out and he would be just as deserving to go number one overall as the other nine. There’s just no clear cut player at the top. Regardless, it will be years before anyone we select will be in the lineup anyway.

If they lose Ullmark to FA they really need to take a goalie.  Ukka Pooka Sambuca ain’t going to cut it.

UPL is still a way's away from being ready for the NHL.  Way too early to declare his career over though.

 

I would like to see us move on from Ullmark and get a better No. 1 goalie if we can.

 

This team hasn't had sound goaltending in a while now.

See ya, Jack. And Samson, and Risto, and Jake. Hate to see Jack go since we simply can’t win any trade in the short term because we won’t be getting a player nearly as good. But it’s time. We will continue to set new league records for playoff droughts each of the next several years until this latest rebuild is done. 
 

Thank god we have a foundation like Skinner to build upon.

Apparently he and Chris drury share an agent ... not sure what the Sabres can get from them in return though. Cbj have 3 1st round picks but this draft doesn’t have an elite nhl ready player from what I understand ..
