Being the 40th anniversary of Permanent Waves, I'm going with The Spirit of Radio and Freewill. Two killer tracks back to back to open the album.

There's a lot of great back-to-back songs.

One of my favorite pairings has to be The Grateful Dead with China Cat Sunflower/I know you Rider.

This album is right up there with The Last Waltz and Stop Making Sense. Just perfect. I have a rare 80's copy and the artwork and sound quality are spectacular.

I posed this question to my friends and here's what came back so far (none of which eclipse Black Dog/Rock 'n Roll IMO):

Accept: Fast As a Shark/Restless and Wild

Metallica: Battery/Master of Muppets

And in the category "he might have had a few this evening":

Van Halen: Irruption/Runnin' With the Devil/Ain't Talkin 'bout Love

I'd say on the self titled Sublime album, 'Wrong Way' into 'Same in the End':

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses

1. I Wanna Be Adored

2. She Bangs The Drum

The album starts with those two. It also ends with:

I Am The Resurrection

Fools Gold

What an album. It had more of an impact on my music choices than any other.

This is the king of all that is indie music.  I know most will not approve, but whatever, it's tremendous.

First listen - "What the f is this?"

Second listen - "Ok, this isn't too bad"

Third listen - "I love you Jeeeesssuuuuuuusssssss Chrrrriiiisssssttttttttt!  Jesus Christ I love youuuuuuu yeeeesssssssss I doooooooooooooo!"

Fantastic album...but I cannot stand "I Wanna Be Adored"  Don't know what it is, but that song is torture for me.

I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner - probably because most of us think of it as one song:

Not really best back to back songs, but love the transition
