Can this be done at New Era?

The Miami Dolphins will soon let fans drive their cars inside the stadium where football games are played every weekend in the fall.

The Dolphins announced Tuesday that they are launching an outdoor drive-in theater inside Hard Rock Stadium that will be used to show marquee games in team history, classic movies, commencement ceremonies, concerts and more. They are also hosting an open-air theater that can host small groups for an intimate viewing experience in the complex plaza.

Hard Rock Stadium became the first public facility to earn the Global Biorisk Advisory Council's STAR accreditation, the standard used for facilities to implement cleaning, disinfecting and infectious disease prevention work practices to control risks involved with infectious agents like the coronavirus.

Thats an interesting idea.  This could certainly bring drive-in movies back at a larger scale.  I like it

Why not just stay home and watch a movie? I’m guessing the picture on my television is better than a screen a couple of hundred feet away. Although the sound system in my car is pretty good, the one in my home is better. I can pause the movie if I need to use facilities, I’m certain facilities are nicer in my house. I can also order any kind of food online. I don’t get it.

Just something different one night, get out of the house, see other people/cars, get a chance to actually be on the field and experience the stadium in a different way, and be surrounded by a bunch of like-minded Bills fanatics. Probably wouldn't make it a habit, but one time would be neat.

What kind of crazy person refers to the bathrooms in his house as facilities?

why inside?  because of the jumbotron?

toilets with 6 foot distancing markers?

Find the closest adjacent parking lot and install a Drive In Theater screen and toss in a restroom

you can make $ in the offseason w/o interrupting practices.

If the NFL is forced to go fan-less this season, perhaps outdoor screens could be set up around the stadiums that would show the games LIVE.

This is a fairly innovative idea.  Appears to be an attempt to revive revenue and keep the fans involved.  I believe the benefit will be limited.  Attendance at Miami home games is usually heavily dependent on visiting teams fans.  It's not just a phenomenon when the Bills play there.  I've seen other teams play there (free tickets...lol).  I wouldn't expect road team fans to make the trip to watch the game in a drive in movie style setting.  If teams can doing these kinds of things profitably and entertain their fans, it will help the league get through these difficult times.  I hope that by September, none of these things will be necessary.

Only holds 230 cars max.  would make more sense to set this up in one of their lots.

Like others have said it is an interesting idea.  My initiation thought is bringing in 200+ cars could be a little bit of a traffic problem.  Especially when they are all trying to be there for kickoff or a movie start.

Then stay home?

Fair enough, I didn’t spend a lot of time at drive-ins in my youth. I worked at Fun-n-games park next to the I-290 drive-in summer of 1970, the showed Woodstock all summer. I pretty much had that movie memorized, “don’t take the brown acid”.

This I understand, but that isn’t what they are doing.

I'm generally a homebody but not to this extent. I would like to get out, do something a little different, enjoy the weather. That said, I still think going to any location with a decent amount of traffic or population density (bars/restaurants)  is not a good idea for me right now. I read a lot of articles on drive in's making a comeback and it made a lot of sense. I probably land where a lot of the US does right now, not coiled in fear and not pretending it's spring break either (those seem to be the only things the media is latched onto at the moment). Any external activities that can offer peace of mind with the ability to get out would be highly attractive right now to a lot of people. It's a smart idea, might fail. Still like the thought process.

People like being social, at least some of us...  yah I know, damn socialism... ? Drive ins make for easy social distancing, ?

When I was in Paris and Italy a bunch of years back the cities put up large screens so folk could watch the World Cup, (actual football, not American rugby) in various parts of town, it was pretty cool, people even acted in a socially responsible fashion win or lose... not a single person through themselves through a plastic table, it was awesome. ?
