CowgirlsFan Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 A pioneer of sports casting for women. Her contribution paved the way for many today. 3 3 2
QLBillsFan Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 She was both lovely and a talented broadcaster. That was the pre game show to watch in the 70’s. She paved the way for future women to be taken seriously as knowledgeable football reporters. Influential off the field married to JY Brown who essentially moved the Braves out of Buffalo. 4
The Dean Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 RIP Out of respect I will hold my thoughts on her former husband, John Y Brown Jr. It isn't Phyllis' fault. 9 1
machine gun kelly Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 A little before my time, but read she was fantastic and paved the way for women as sportscasters. 1
CSBill Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 I can't like her, never did, because she was married to the jerk who moved the Braves. Nonetheless, RIP Mrs. George 3

Tony P Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 I'm not sure... Is that Phyllis George or Jayne Kennedy?

Very knowledgeable and personable as well. She was only 70. Read she died of a blood disorder. RIP. That is sad. Hope Brent Musberger keeps rolling. Was there anyone better then him calling a game? 1

I'm guessing he'll stay on since he lives in Las Vegas & was commuting to broadcast the games in Oakland.
