As much as us Bills fans put Jimbo on a pedestal, we overestimate his career on the field with our idolization of him... Will anyone be able to live up to the imaginary standard we set?

I've always been critical of Kelly.

No Special Teams Mountain/No Front Office/Ownership Mountain/No Coaching Mountains!

don’t you bills fans know anything about mt Rushmore’s?

Not true.

4 players, for me OJ, JK, Bruce, Thurman.

Ralph gets his own, ala Crazy Horse monument.

I consider you the keepin' it real voice around here when folks such as myself get carried away by the 90's nostalgia...:D

I believe that if the Bills had Marino instead of Kelly they'd have won four superbowls.

Can we have six?  My deepest apologies to Andre and Kelly.  If Kelly willed us to victory in any of the three Super Bowls following the Giants one he'd make the cut.

I for one hope that Josh eclipses Kelly on the field, which in turn would equate to better than...(takes a deep breath)

101-59 regular season recordbetter than Elway numbers in almost every metric at the time of his retirement [better completion percentage, better average gain per attempt, better touchdown percentage and better passer rating]; 14-8 head to head record against Dan Marino [3-0 in the playoffs]; 23 fourth-quarter comebacks and six other winning drives that broke a fourth-quarter tie. Former Dallas Hall of Famer Roger Staubach, famous for his comeback heroics, also finished his career with 23 fourth-quarter comebacks; https://buffalonews.com/1997/02/12/the-numbers-put-kelly-in-same-tier-with-marino-elway/; pro-football reference has it as 21 4th Q comebacks and 28 game-winning drives https://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/comeback.cgi?player=KellJi00

Also, it should be noted that NONE of the following fellow HOF QB's ever made it past Kelly when playing head to head in the playoffs: Marino, Elway, Moon & Montana.

I'm happy to dig out more in defense of Jim's pedestal, but my overall point is that we should be so lucky if Allen surpasses Jim's actual on-field metrics, W/L #'s!

Ralph

OJ

Bruce

Kelly

The Bills wouldn't exist without Ralph.  And they wouldn't have remained in Buffalo.

OJ is arguably the best running back in NFL history.  (He's also a homicidal schmuck so I can see leaving off).

Bruce is arguably the best DE ever.

Kelly was the leader of the Bills during their greatest era.

48-13 regular season record;

Not sure if you are using Kelly's record as Bills QB here.  Kelly was 101-59 in regular season in 11 years from 1986-1996.  And he went 9-8 in the playoffs as Bills Starter.
