Jersey Numbers for the new guys

Is Peko still technically on the roster at this point? Feels like 94 for Epenesa makes more sense unless it’s been promised to one of the other signees?
Does Fromm taking 10 mean Beas is going back to 11?

And what’s keeping Davis from having 13?

Guessing Butler, Addison or Jefferson took 94 . The numbers for free agents hasnt been revealed yet. In fact theyre not even listed on roster yet.

Maybe Ray Ray McCloud switched to 13 after he gave 14 to Diggs

I guess that makes sense, but it’s stupid. It could all work out perfectly:

Jefferson: 90

Addison: 97

Butler: 96

Epenesa: 94

And yes, I obsess about numbers.

Available #'s in the 90's:

  • 90
  • 94
  • 95 (I'm not sure I see the team giving this number up so quickly)
  • 97

Defensive linemen signed:

  • Mario Addison (was 97 in Carolina)
  • Vernon Butler (was 92 in Carolina)
  • Quinton Jefferson (was 99 in Seattle)

This is probably why Epenesa picked #57.

Also, 96 may not be available, but it will be.

I’m not too worried about it as we all remember seeing Motor in that ugly ass #40 during the preseason last year before he switched to the very crisp looking #26.

I think Vincent Taylor has 96.

I wouldn't mind seeing Moss wear #22.

what's wrong with 20?

or do you want him to wear Fred Jackson's number?

20 is / was Gore's number

I was eagerly looking forward to this.

Jersey numbers are only slightly less important to a player's career than what team he ends up with.

First, the good:

Moss chose wisely. 20 is great for a short, tough bruiser. Travis Henry redux.

Bass with 2 is perfect. Steve Christie mojo. Elite kicker number.

Hodgins will look good in 87. It's a tall guy number. I'm team "make jerseys in the 80s cool for WRs again!" all the way.

Now, the not so good:

Epenesa in 57? Yuck. I don't like hand-in-the-dirt-only guys wearing numbers in the 50s. Maybe it'll grow on me, like Edmunds in 49 did, but I'd rather he get 94 somehow.

Davis in number 3? I mean... I guess that's only temporary. He'll wind up with 13 when it's all said and done.

Jackson in 30 is wrong. 30 is not a good number for a corner. Boooooo.

Fromm in 10 is...fine, I guess. Beasley must be switching back to 11. I guess I can live with it. Fromm in 11 has a better career than Fromm in 10, though. I'm just sayin'.

Listen guys, jersey numbers are important. Really important. Don't @ me.
