He's been in the playoffs plenty. He needs to stop losing in the playoffs. Especially to teams like the Texans when they're QB'd by TJ Yates...

Again,  no other team is likely to get him the chance to reach and possibly win in the playoffs.  NE is his best chance

I think Pittsburgh would be interesting.  Their season fell apart last year because all their backups are terrible.  Roethlisberger has missed time in 4 of 5 seasons, he's 38... they should have a backup plan.

That's not a bad fit, but I think Dalton would prefer to have a chance at a starting position. In Jacksonville and NE he has a chance to start. With the Steelers he is definitely a backup.

If Dalton can't find a starting job somewhere, the Steelers should sign him at least as a thank you for that decade worth of 2 wins a season

I will say, between being under shelter-in-place, this slow offseason, and the Bills roster pretty much set, Dalton to the Jags/Pats will be my new Mario/Maclin-Watch of 2020

Everybody understands that they currently don't have cap space.  But they can create a bit more,  back end Dalton's contract.  Also,  never under estimate a player's drive to prove himself after being dumped by his only employer

But he’s gonna command 18-19 million. Again bill would have to gut the team of a lot of talent just to bring dalton in. And at that point there wouldn’t be a team worth signing dalton for

So Dalton gets the blame for the disaster that are the Cincinnati Bengals?

Im suggesting he could do what Bridgewater did for the Saints last season.... Barkley can’t and neither can Fromm.

A QB gets a lot of blame for a team's losing record.  Since that career 2015 season, he's 20-35-1.

Now would I take him as a backup QB on a cheap deal?  Sure.  Just not as a long-term starter.

3-13... 8-8 against baltimore though and 12-5 against the browns.  So he wasn't terrible against the rest of the division

Is he?  Winston just got 1 million.  There's no market for his services at 18 million.

I think here would be great.

Could also see him in PGH, but they appear bizarrely wed to Rudolph.

Expand

Even though he's terrible.  Before that was Landry Jones... who was also terrible.

I think they're trying to use QB2 to develop behind Ben, but they all come out terrible.  And it cost them 2019 because they were pathetic down the stretch.  What a waste of a beast defense that grabbed a ton of takeaways.

Speaking of Landry Jones, when Ben went down the Steelers contacted him about returning, but the XFL refused

  I agree. People who don't pay any attention to the Bills are woefully misinformed.

Outside this board, I think you would find yourself in the distinct minority on this issue.  Allen has yet to put up a season that compares to what Cam, Dalton, and Winston have done in the past.  As it stands, Allen is a developing QB who isn't asked to do too much due to a stout defense.

Expand

And yet all those QB's are unemployed right now, while Allen is having a team built around him. Funny how life works.

...$17.5 mil tariff easily squashed any trade efforts......agree on starter money prognosis......incentive laden deal with "competition promise" is probably the best he'll see IMO.....had pretty decent stats at TCU and thought that the Bills would pull the trigger in 2011 round 2 with the proverbial "later round QB pick", but Aaron Williams was the choice.....guess we were all set with Fitz & Thigpen.............
