You didn’t really start to hate Edwards until later on down the road....Post Cleveland 08 but seeing this game again (13 years later) this guy was checking it down like crazy already. We just wanted a guy so bad that you were willing to give every excuse humanly possible to believe. It’s funny, it’s like for 18 years we tried to find any reason to prove to people our qb wasn’t bad and with Josh it’s like we try to find any reason to say he isn’t good.

I wanted to believe in Edwards so bad. The Walsh quote sustained me for way too long.

He's checking down constantly in this one.

It's actually great to watch this game & think how we are now.  We had such mediocrity then, almost across the board. We always had a few solid players, but we were never close to competing w/ any of the contenders.

Such a different story today.  It's great to have a team that has talent all over the place.

Trents’s check down modus operandi is already in evidence. But for his second start he is showing some poise. He even seems to be checking his reads downfield. Makes me wonder if the Cowboys were just focusing on covering deep and they are not showing it. Also, it would be nice if a Bill would break a tackle occasionally. But this team was so bereft of talent and coaching.

That team had some good players starting with 2 Hall of Famers on offense.  McGee and Greer were good corners.  But way too many guys on the field who probably shouldn’t even have been on an NFL roster starting with the QB.

Ralph draft pick.

You want Goofy? Here’s a little story about Wilson, from sources who were in the draft room: In 2007, the Bills were on the clock in the fourth round and deciding which player to take, when the owner suddenly blurted out, “What about the running back from Fresno State? Is he available?” The team’s personnel men looked at one another; they had already used their first-round pick on a halfback, Cal’s Marshawn Lynch. One of them bit his tongue and informed Wilson that, yes, Dwayne Wright was still on the board. “We’re taking him,” Wilson said, and that was that. He’s currently third on the team’s depth chart, behind Lynch and fellow second-year back Fred Jackson.

And Kyle and Moorman were there.
