You guys play too much golf... I am not even that good... though I can hit a wood 300 plus yards..., after no idea where the ball is going... pretty good a putt putt though.

I was like you— but got bit by the golf bug about 5 years ago.

I am your classic lie improver. I will fluff it up, or poke it into the fairway, or kick it from behind a tree—you name it.

Golf is so much more fun when your lie is good!

I never bet and very loosely keep score and am very obvious with what I am doing— and so the guys I play with couldn’t care less.

oh, and I always take a breakfast ball or two off the first tee!

I improve my lie all the time. First, I’ll lie about getting a five when I really got a six but then I improve that lie and say I got a four.

I have a hard time seeing how Hauschka can be better than Bass. Obviously Hauschka has the experience edge but it’s not like he is very accurate and has no distance left at all. I just think it would be a big mistake to stick with Hauschka, it’s a huge disadvantage when we can’t even attempt field goals over 50 yards.

Bass was only 20 of 28  (71.4%) last season, with a long of 49.

Well, it’s a crap shoot as Hauscka has been 78.9% for the last two years, but from 2012-2017 he floated from the low to high 80’s%.  Bottom line is he has slipped a bit, but he did have an injury in 2018.  It’s true Bass was 71.4%, but his average is 79.8% for the three years.  2018 was over 90.5% in college.  The other thing is House $ doesn’t seem to have the leg for the kickoffs as much anymore, and Bass has a leg that boom kicks.

We probably won’t know until they come out of training camp.  The only last piece Beane May consider is Bass is considerably cheaper than House.  House is approximately $1.75 mil. and Bass is a few hundred thousand.

His accuracy is very good under 50. Plus his low trajectory of kicks is better for Buffalo than Bass who hits them very high exposing them to more wind

TC and Preseason games will decide this for sure.  Hauscka will have to prove he still can make a 50+ kick.  He's another year older and the

simple fact the Bills went with a 6th round pick means to me it's an open competition.

FWIW I feel even if Hauscka is cut I don't think another teams picks him up.  Bass is being given a big tryout and I think it's his to lose.

Haush found his accuracy inside 49 this past season which has value. But I agree Bass should be able to beat Haush out for the spot. Unless Haush keeps his accuracy and regains his leg or Bass completely ***** the bed I think Bass will be the kicker.

Yeah the numbers weren’t great last year in college but it seems like most of the solid NFL kickers didn’t have great stats in college. He hit 90.5% of his kicks the year before though.

Bass gets this barring a terrible pre-season/TC. Being cheaper helps but...

Beane isn’t just building for 2020. Haush is on his last legs and is the K more likely injured given his age. Haush may have 1 season left but not here.

Letting Bass walk means he gets picked up by one of the first teams with a failing or injured kicker. They can’t stash him on the practice squad to prevent this and I doubt they use up a roster spot for an KO specialist. Bass has 10+ years ahead of him if he performs.

The Bills can’t let the next Dustin Hopkins walk. Hopkins was a Bill but now the Skins have this strong-legged 85% career kicker. ?

Haush at this point in his career reminds me of Ryan Lindel back in the day (relatively speaking) a good kicker inside 45 yards but gets shaky once you get close to 50 yards or beyond. That's not the worst kicker to have as some teams have kickers who struggle with all ranges but it is a handicap to not be able to have a kicker with range. BUT Haush is at least a decent fall back option in case Bass just doesn't have it. I would take a kicker who is 90% from inside 50 and sub 50% above 50 instead of a kicker who could kick 55 but is wildly inconsistent.

Haush isn't ideal but he is a decent fall back option in case the new kicker can't handle it.

Haush is at 86.4% for his career. Unfortunately most of that was done elsewhere. :(
