Haha, yikes, I didn't realize that.

I guess I just assumed we took a big leg if we were drafting a kicker.

He has a monster leg. Not sure whyvhe hasnt hit one over 50 but i didnt watch that team at all. But he hit a 63 yarder at his pro day. And was hitting them from 55 at senior bowl.

Huge Fan of Tyler Bass!!!!

Dude was kicking circles around Blankenship at the Senior Bowl. He’s consistent inside 50 yards. But has the leg for 60!

but not this guy.  Check out the NFL writeup.  Has trouble kicking from over 50 yards, even more concerning, trouble in "inclement weather."

He will not beat Houshaka.  He is only a kickoff specialist.

Awful pick with Mann (P) still on board, as well as CB, DBs, and other kickers.

Another guy to read about? You don't learn about players by reading about them. You watch them.

If we can draft a kicker in the 5th, we sure as heck need to be drafting a punter in the 1st because we haven’t had a good one since Moorman.

When was the last time we only drafted one defensive player in a draft?

I know we have 2 more picks, but one of those 2 I believe will be OL.

McDermott and Beane clearly love our D as it is.

They signed a bunch of defensive free agents, that’s where they saw the value this offseason.

I don’t like drafting a kicker. Check out success rate on rookie kickers and it’s a real crapshoot. Kicking is 90% mental and I would rather have a proven vet. Hope the rookie though works out.

at what Position is the sixth round pick not a crapshoot?

nope, it's an awful pick.  You shouldn't waste picks.  If a guy has issues in inclement weather, and isn't good over 50, what's the point.   He won't beat out House Money, so why pick him?  Get Mann, who can flip the field.  Or a backup/ST starting LB, OL, etc.   This does not strike me as a "high ceiling" pick.

You’re not the gm though right? They obviously have some familiarity with this kid and feel comfortable bringing him in. What qualifies you over Beane to say he can’t win the job? Cause you read an article?
How about the senior bowl? Read about that?

With the struggles with kickers all around the league, perhaps someone will trade for Hauschka?

There is no such thing as an awful pick in the 6th round. Let’s not pretend there’s all these special gems sitting out there. Especially when you base your opinion on a “nfl write up”
