BurpleBull Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 Gabriel Davis was my Nathan Peterman pick at WR during this year's draft process. So was JaMychal Hasty at RB, but I'm not sure if he was drafted. 1

transplantbillsfan Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 CBS Sports has him as the 117th best prospect. Seems like we were going BPA throughout the draft.

That was the year of the “big receiver” and there ended up being a bunch of busts, including Hardy and Sweed. edit: Devin Thomas, Malcom kelly, James Hardy, and Limas Sweed— everyone was after the “big” receiver that year. There were a ton drafted in the first two rounds. Ironically, out of that supposedly deep WR draft class, only the “smurfs” had productive NFL careers (DeSean Jackson and Eddie Royal). Motor26 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Surprised they based on Gandy-Golden for Davis. But clearly Beane liked him better. We will see. Training camp should be interesting. A lot of competition for the 4-6 receiver slots.
Bucs1 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Bucs / UCF fan...First post here...only signed up to simply say congratulations on a great draft, and particularly selecting Gabe where you did. You just got Brandon Marshall physically and Jerry Rice mentality wise. No BS. This kid is special. Its been reported since he stepped foot on campus he was early to every practice on the jugs machine and stayed late every day doing the same. He did this his whole time at UCF. Any time during offseason and bowl prep this kid stayed inside watching film with coaches. Take it FWIW, I’m not a homer type fan but this kid’s talent was something special to watch and I was hoping like hell the Bucs would snag him.....and Killins who Philly got. 10 9

Prickly Pete Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 (edited) I hope he is a good guy, but that he appears to model himself after the biggest d-bag in the NFL isn't encouraging. Edited April 26, 2020 by 32ABBA

Good hands. Physical and high points well. When UCF needed a play he is who they looked at. Limited route tree though. Out classes most competitors but will need developing to succeed in NFL Think this is absolutely right. And when his team needed a play he usually made one. He just finds a way to produce. Agree they need to focus on working on his footwork. Both off the line and in and out of breaks. That is stuff that is coachable.
