Did you see this guys stats? he had a .714% last year missing 8 FGs on 28 attempts.

I'm not serious my friend. Seems like Beane and McDermott are just throwing ? at the wall at this point to see what sticks.

Tyler Bass, Kicker

SCHOOL: Georgia Southern
YEAR: Senior
HEIGHT: 5-11
WEIGHT: 185 lbs

Bass was red-shirted in 2015 with the Eagles and didn't take over as their kicker until 2017. The South Carolina native was awarded All-Sun Belt First Team once (2018) and All-SBC Second Team twice (2017 and 2019).

He finished his career at Georgia Southern going 114/116 on extra points and was 54/68 on field goals. Two notes - Bass was 93% on field goals from 30-50 yards and only allowed nine returns last season on kickoffs!

.

yeah, but then there is this:

Weaknesses
  • On the smaller size
  • Had some issues kicking in inclement weather
  • Doesn't explode hips through the football
  • Sky-ball trajectory might limit his range from 50-plus  (we already have a kicker who does under 50 yards)
  • Career FG percentage (77.4) fell under his expected FG percentage of 80.3

Time for a little more 5th round magic! Milano and a certain Mr Williams come to mind, inspiring me!

Maybe this?

So the only teams to take kickers are in the AFCE

The return of the kickoff specialist

that's all this guy is.  Totally a awful pick.  No way around it.  He is not good over 50, can't kick in inclement weather.  With some CB's, guards, and Mann available, this pick is total poop.

What can you tell us about him?

Leg strength is really impressive. Accuracy, I'm not 100% sure about. I think they're sick of not having faith in Hauschka beyond 45 yards.

Only on (also what used to be BBMB) TBD do people complain about 6th round picks.

If we don't draft Jerry Rice with our next one I am so done with this team.

Yeah I don't understand this pick. His stats and scouting report say undrafted free agent

I feel like the league is in a bit of a kicking funk. Not sure if the numbers support it but my instinct is that since the change to the XP rules not only has the success there gone down but also the FG %.

Because one is only going to decline with age and one has the scope for growth?
