Lovell recalled a similar question from a reporter 50 years ago: “Jim, would you like to go back to the moon?” Friday, he said: “I was about ready to answer that question when I saw a hand go up in the back of the audience. It was my wife - with a thumbs-down. So, I said, ‘I think this is my last flight.’”" Days of nail biting for all alive at the time, Apollo 13 returned safely 50 years ago today. KD in CA Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 A local movie theatre had planned a special one time showing of Apollo 13 for last weekend. I was all jacked up to take my kids and go see it on the big screen. One of my favorite movies. 1
