If his comp is a similar back to Singletary with more speed, than sign me up in the 3rd or 4th.

If need be in the 3rd, I’d love to package our 4th and a later pick to jump back in and grab him.  We have no need for four picks in the 5th-7th rounds.

Kid looks explosive. Would be a nice #2 to Singletary. Hope he is there in round 4.

Would love to see us go WR, CB in rounds 2 and 3 and then get this kid in round 4. Would be very happy if that happens.

I like him in the 4th.

I think he is a good compliment to Singletary as he has game changer speed that Singletary doesn't and can take it from anywhere on the field.

My first choice is still AJ Dillon in the 3rd.  But I would be excited about Evans too, he is high on my list and I don't think he will last to our 4th round pick.  Could see Beane trading up from our 4th to get him though like he did Knox last year if he doesn't take a RB with either of our 2nd and 3rd round picks.

I still like Jonathan Taylor a lot for our team and scheme and how he compliments Singletary, but Evans could be a solid pick later on.

I agree. If JT is there anywhere close to 54 you gotta go get him. Love Evan's speed and acceleration. I'd have no problem considering him in the 4th with a Joshua Kelley or Perine.

For a while I’ve been thinking that #54 will be the sweet spot to draft a RB, and I still think there will be at least 1 or 2 of the top 4 available when we pick, but I am beginning to think that Beane has other intentions with our first pick.

Evans is a prospect that has really grown on me after doing some research.  Although there remains the small school competition trepidation, similar to Kyle Dugger, he just jumps out at you when you watch him play.

Although not the ideal compliment to Singletary, I think he would be an excellent weapon to have in this offense.  Most of the “draft experts” I’ve seen have him going in the 4th round, but a few recent reports I’ve seen have him possibly going in the 3rd.

It certainly seems like Beane is really interested in him.  What are your thoughts about Evans in the 3rd/4th?  Perhaps DE/DB is the target with our 2nd rounder?

Appalachian State is a division 1 School. It's nothing like comparing him to Dugger honestly

I like Evans.

I WILL say that I remember Beane saying earlier this offseason that they kept giving Frank Gore gameday jerseys instead of Yeldon last year because he had that "downhill, smashmouth presence that maybe Devin didn't have".

So if we take a guy like Evans, which I'm fine with, it seems like we maybe still won't have that short yardage, downhill, between-the-tackles presence on the roster.

I can't be the only Bills fan who doesn't want to see our short yardage back continue to be Josh Allen.

If they get Evans, I hope that they also add either a late round or UDFA power back, as well.

This is kind of where I’m at except I’m hoping for DE & CB in rounds 2 and 3.  If Evans is there at our pick in round 4 that would be amazing, but that’s looking more and more unlikely.  Perhaps Beane has something in mind to move back up into the 3rd for Evans if it works out.  Still very interesting that they’re spending so much time on him pre-draft.

Been watching a lot of him the last few days in getting ready for the draft because I firmly believe the Bills will be taking a RB with one of their first 2 picks.  I like this kid a lot.  I know he comes from a smaller program, but with RBs, that doesn't bother me as much.  I think vision is the most important trait in a RB and, if you couple that with the right physical tools, you can play RB in the NFL, or at any level.  A hole is a hole and if a RB can see it, and then has the physical ability to get to the hole they see, then the school they go to doesn't matter to me.

Vision is exactly what Thurman had.  Hopefully whoever they pick has vision as good as Thurman's.

Okay, fine.  Comparing App St to D-2 Lenoir-Rhyne was a mistake on my part.  App State is a big school.  It’s one of the biggest and best football schools ever, and if it were any bigger or better it would be so big they’d probably have to play in the NFL.  Sorry.  ?

Good point.  While it would be nice to find a short yardage back in the latter rounds or as an UDFA, another option could be Carlos Hyde on a 2 year ~6 million dollar deal after the draft ??‍♂️

He’s going to flip to App State.

Wrong thread, but no, I haven’t heard anything of the sort.  Wouldn’t surprise me though.  Always feel free to PM me with any ?? questions, brotha ?

Grabbing him in the 4th round would be nice, he kind of reminds me of Matt Breida which I'd be glad to add to this team.

Freddy J proved you can come from a small school and ball out. Under the right conditions he can be a star or a bust. I will not be mad if the Bills can get him in the 3-5.

It's a D1 school

It's not a D3 back water school. App State was ranked last year
