FeelingOnYouboty Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Won’t know until tomorrow but doesn’t it seem like Laviska Shenault is going to be available to us at #54

When it comes to it, in a year where he hasn't been able to visit teams, I can see him falling. Teams will prefer the players they can absolutely see the fit for. I wouldn't be surprised if he falls out the top 10,maybe even top 15

You have potentially 8 picks in the top 50 of the next 2 drafts. You can’t develop and assimilate that many good young players into a team and even if you could, you can probably only afford to re-sign 4 or 5 of them at most. I’d give up one of my extra firsts this year to make sure I get Tua. Then if I have to move up from 18 for an OT, I can do that too. I wouldn’t sit back and make 4 picks in the top 36 based on what falls to me. I’m praying that the Dolphins trade away a ton of picks for Tua and/or to move up for a LT, but I don’t see it happening. They traded away half their team to accumulate those picks and they have holes everywhere that need filling. Using most of those picks to move up for an undersized, injury-prone QB and an offensive lineman is exactly the wrong strategy. I think Miami has wised-up, unfortunately. Process Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 The dolphins giving up picks to move up and take a tackle, and neither the pats or dolphins getting Tua would be a huge win for the bills tonight. I do think Tua has a good chance of being a bust though.

I could see a yannick trade giving Jax Pick 19, and then them packaging that, 12, a 2nd and Fournette for pick 3 and taking Tua Edited April 23, 2020 by YoloinOhio
thebandit27 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Apparently the effort to get to 3 without giving up 5 was so that they could offer Cinci 3 and 5 to get to 1 for Burrow. Bengals said no. 2 2 1

Nothing would persuade me to trade out if I'm the Bengals. That's basically what I'm saying. I think you're in the realms of absurd numbers of picks. Give me 5 1sts and I probably would and take Lawrence next year Edited April 23, 2020 by Mountain Man

Process Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 The dolphins could have just not played Fitzpatrick, been the worst team in the league, drafted burrow while keeping their million draft picks and been one of the best teams in the league in two years. 1 1 1

Fitzmagic was definitely a bad tanking decision but would have been hard to top the Bengals this past year. They even sat Dalton for a much worse QB and it paid off.

Poor testing due to his core muscle injury, then surgery. Lack of medicals because of covid causing hesitation. He did put out a short video, though. 1

I don't think he was ever a first round talent. When you add to that legit health concerns as a disappointing combine very quickly you start to see him as an end of round 2 / early round 3 guy. I doubt teams ever had him in round 1. I think the draft media started a little high on him and when they begin talking to teams around the combine they catch up to the reality of what teams are thinking a bit. So if he has "slid" it is only placement within round 2 and that is probably mainly health related. 3
Warren Zevon Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Makes sense - if he's there at our pick in round 2 I wouldn't be upset if he was the pick.
