Mat68
Anything said by a Gm in April means nothing. Come draft night if someone they covet as a top 10 guys is there pick 25 to 32 I bet beane makes a call.

And I know trading up in the 1st could be a disaster but I think I would be completely in on this. That would be pushing all the chips in.

DJB
A few things. 1. Cost is usually astronomical. 2. Many draft analysts say that after top 20, that 21 -60 are very interchangeable. 3. The uncertainty of the entire draft process could complicate matters. I dont blame Beane. Sit back, watch the draft unfold and grab the guy you want that falls at a cheaper price. Oliver is my player I think will make an extreme jump and be considered elite , pro bowl , possible all pro by next year. I think we end up with 3 all pros on D. Greg S
I never pay much attention to any interview that Beane or McDermott give. Both are experts at giving detailed answers, but the reality is they don't say anything, which is the way its supposed to be. I prefer the Bills operate this way rather than the days of big mouth Rex who always wanted to "win" the press conference. 1
MrEpsYtown
Makes sense. Obviously he loves Diggs, but I think one of the reasons he was so comfortable making that move is that he didn't love what might be available in the 22 range, back third of the first. So why would he turn around and risk a ton of future draft capital to get up into that range again? Doesn’t make sense. I could see a bit of trade up in the second if someone fell out of day 1. But it seems like there is like 12-15 really great prospects and that 16-80 could go anywhere on the board. So we are sitting pretty imo. 1

Hardhatharry
He will end up with two 2nd round picks, and two 3rd round picks. I think he will be trading up heavily into those rounds for guys he thinks can earn a spot on this team easily compared to some late rounder. 3

Unless he is throwing next year's picks around (not his style) I don't see this.

HappyDays
I would still take the odds on him trading up in the 2nd. If there is an edge rusher he really likes still on the board in the mid-40s I don't think he'll wait. We have few needs and a deep roster so we can afford to give up a 4th or 5th in exchange for picking a need in the top 50. Nihilarian
If there is a defensive player that McD loves that they are able to trade up for... I see them going for it. Even if it means giving up everything behind their #3 and some picks from next year. I say that because 2017 first pick CB, 2018 2 first rounders QB & ILB, 2019 first round DT. Three years, three first round defensive picks. Why should 2020 be any different?

Doesn't matter to me what he does I trust this guy and the people he has around him to make good decisions... Wow when was the last time I really believed in a Buffalo front office like this? Good feeling to have. 1
BigBuff423
When Beane knew it was about getting a QB, he did everything he had to in order to be just outside the top 5 and that was WITHOUT giving up the extra 1st in the same year. Last year he stood pat at 9th overall and made arguably one of the best picks in the Draft considering the value of Ed Oliver who some thought could go 3rd overall. Fast forward to where the Bills are making the rock-solid commitment to having the same Offensive Line, and many of the same skill position players except for one of the most important: a true WR1 that will help their young, developing QB. No question mark about if that Rookie WR will develop into what the team needs this year and in the years to come. I could be very wrong, but given all of that aforementioned information, I believe Beane on this one and think they know they've spent their extra top end Draft capital on Diggs and feel good about it. Now, trading back into the 2nd or 3rd with the extra mid round picks, THAT is definitely something I foresee just based on numbers. But the 1st in my mind, is over for Beane unless someone calls him and it's too good to pass up. 1
Orlando Buffalo
If you packaged all of our picks together to move up I still doubt it even gets us back to our original position- and so far McBeane has shown talent at finding good players in the draft so I want to keep them.
