Seasons1992 Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 "I once accidentally ejected myself out of a figher jet. I was never in the military." ---Said no one ever, until this guy!
WhoTom Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Sacré bleu! Don't they disable controls like that for a passenger flight?

Can't be disabled, and it isn't a "button." Since French, probably said "surrender," which caused him to select it. Just kidding. Edited April 14, 2020 by sherpa
Gray Beard Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 I always thought the ejection seat was triggered by reaching down between your legs and pulling on a handle with both hands. (No puns intended). I can’t believe nobody told him not to do that before the flight. Maybe they did but he was too panicked to understand or remember.
Simon Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 That actually sounds sort of fun. Though I think I'd have waited until the end of the flight and then given the pilot a heads up I was taking an alternate route.
4merper4mer Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Maybe he just remembered to be socially distant.

There is also a ring behind and above your head. You grab it with both hands and pull the face curtain over your head. Very important to have your spine completely vertical during the sequence, or you'll likely suffer back injury. The seat is disabled by a lever that is behind your head, at neck level. When enabled, it fits inside the seat. If it is disabled, that lever would be jamming the back of your neck, so it's always enabled in flight. 1

\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Actually, many of the posters on this board suffer from premature ejection.
