Beast Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 7th year, 4th team. IMO, Low end #1, top end #2 WR. 2 1
JimKellyTryouts Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Gift wrapping Clowney, Hopkins, and now cap space and a draft pick to Sea, AZ, and LA respectively...as if they couldn't have used that pick on a WR without the money and injury history?
Andrew Son Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Any concern this guy has been traded 57 times? 1
LABILLBACKER Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Hey Jalen, your team just got worse and no we don't want you in Buffalo. 2 1 1 1
njbuff Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 So, Bill O'Brien would rather have Cooks over Hopkins?

billsfan89 Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 They basically traded away Hopkins and pick number 57 for Brandin Cooks (on a big contract) pick 43 and a future 4th round pick. BOB is the worst GM in the league. They could have easily gotten the Diggs package for Hopkins while still trading for Cooks and had pick 22 instead of 47 and still have pocketed the 4th in 2021 AND gotten extra mid round picks. 2

No, 2 don't go together. The Hopkins trade was personal. Stupid but obviously done for personal reasons. Not too hard to figure it out @itaos Edited April 10, 2020 by formerlyofCtown
PetermansRedemption Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Is there a question as to who the worst GM in the league is? 1
DCOrange Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 I like Cooks a lot but this whole thing just makes no sense. 1
Golden Goat Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Wish we would have played this roster in the playoffs. 5

I get that the two trades aren't directly in tandem. But that is what it amounted to on an effective basis. He traded one of the top 5 receivers in the game plus a 4th round pick for a broken down RB on a big contract, a second round pick, and a future 4th round pick. Then trades his other 2nd round pick for Cooks and a 4th round pick. Effectively turning his 2nd round pick, 4th round pick and Hopkins into Cooks, David Johnson, pick 43, a 4th round pick and a future 4th. Whereas many GM's have said off the record had they known Hopkins was available they would have traded a package of picks featuring at least a late 1st rounder for him. I actually don't hate this trade as the Texans desperately needed a WR and Cooks is a good player. The cost for Cooks even on his contract was reasonable. However BOB is a classic case of why the coach shouldn't be the GM. He let his emotions about a player devalue the player. 3
MrEpsYtown Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Randall Cobb and Cooks on the same teams seems a but redundant, but I think it will help Watson. But losing Hopkins is just inexcusable.
