BillsFaninNC Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Bills NFL Europe Kevin Thompson doing well. Watched the game today and this kid has a rocket for an arm. Thoughts?
BillsGuyInMalta Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I think Thompson's play over in NFL Europe has definitely put off the Bills on taking a QB late in the Draft. Him, Woodbury and an Undrafted Free Agent will probably compete for the 3rd QB spot.
Arkady Renko Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Eventually you will all come around to my avatar.
Mantis Toboggan M.D Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Doesnt he have terrible statstics? Less than 50% throwing?
MadBuffaloDisease Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Doesnt he have terrible statstics? Less than 50% throwing? He's got 2 TD's passing and 2 TD's rushing, and no INT's. And apparently his WR's have been dropping a lot of passes. Oh yeah and his team is 3-0. It's too bad he wasted-away with the Browns for 3 years and then under Killdrive last year.
MrLocke Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 What channel are these NFLE games on? I never saw him play so I am not going to make any judgements.
brihs2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I was looking at the stats of all the Bills allocated to NFLEurope and i wasn't impressed with the "numbers" i do like the wins for thompson though. I will take a winner any day of the week over someone who has great numbers. (but his completion percentage = RJ)
Mark Vader Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 MrLocke Posted Today, 09:58 PM What channel are these NFLE games on? I never saw him play so I am not going to make any judgements. The NFLE games are on NFL Network. I don't see any reason why this guy should'nt get a shot at the #3 position with the Bills.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 NFL Europe, huh... please see Ken Simenton. Good point. However QB, kicker, and punter (and no other positions) are positions that have been successfully developed in NFLE. It's a longshot Thompson will be anything more than a 3rd stringer, but there's still a use for him in that capacity.
Mile High Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Kurt Warner, Brian Moorman and ummmm help me out here ahh I can't think of.. Lawrence Phillips!

I mean seriously now, how often do NFL teams really go to their 3rd string QBs?
MadBuffaloDisease Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Kurt Warner, Brian Moorman and ummmm help me out here ahh I can't think of.. Lawrence Phillips! Warner, Brad Johnson, Jake Delhomme, Moorman, Vinatieri, and a couple other kickers. I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting.
MrLocke Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I think Keith Traylor of the Pats was there as well.
jarthur31 Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Alot of those wins are due to his scrambling abilities not his arm.

BillsFaninNC Posted April 18, 2005 Author Posted April 18, 2005 I liked what I saw. Big kid, goes 235 and moves well for a big kid. He had some laser throws and nice touches on fade routes. I'm not saying he is the second coming of Jim Kelly, but he does remind me of another NFLE Quarterback who was a BACKUP in NFLE. He was in the Superbowl last year, Jake Dehomme.
