What if you won the Powerball during a global pandemic? Are you saying that you are incapable of keeping yourself safe while casting your vote in person? On the one hand people must wear masks and gloves while keeping their distance and washing their hands often to keep themselves and others safe. On the other hand those precautions are not good enough if it's for casting your vote. Mail-in ballots provide the easiest way to cook the system from the time they are mailed out to the time and method they are returned.

Overall, American death rates from COVID-19 data (aggregated across all states with available data and the District of Columbia) have reached new highs for all race groups: 1 in 1,500 Black Americans has died (or 65.8 deaths per 100,000) 1 in 2,300 Indigenous Americans has died (or 43.2 deaths per 100,000) 1 in 3,100 Pacific Islander Americans has died (or 32.7 deaths per 100,000) 1 in 3,200 Latino Americans has died (or 31.1 deaths per 100,000) 1 in 3,600 White Americans has died (or 28.5 deaths per 100,000) 1 in 3,700 Asian Americans has died (or 27.7 deaths per 100,000) Black Americans continue to experience the highest overall mortality rates and the most widespread occurrence of disproportionate deaths. Since we began reporting these data, the Black mortality rate across the U.S. has never fallen below twice that of all other groups (excepting Indigenous Americans), revealing a durable pattern of disproportionality. The latest overall COVID-19 mortality rate for Black Americans is about 2.3 times as high as the rate for Whites and Asians, about twice as high as the Latino and Pacific Islander rate, and 1.5 times as high as the Indigenous rate. https://www.apmresearchlab.org/covid/deaths-by-race 1

And we just saw five weeks of black people protesting largely without masks or protections without any jump in deaths. Might want to find a new narrative to cling to, this one disappears when exposed to sunlight/facts. This is true due to shutdowns and masks protecting high risk especially nursing homes that are necessary but are killing the economy. Edited July 5, 2020 by ALF

The death rate dropped, it did not rise. If people can gather en-mass to protest, they can gather to vote in person. Are you saying it's ok to have mass gatherings and the death rate will drop ? Trump rallies are safe ? Republicans should vote in person ? End the shutdown ??
ALF Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 45 minutes ago, Winston Zeddemore said: I go by facts and evidence. The death rate has remained low and steady despite five weeks of people blowing off the order (with no push back from the same "experts" who now are saying it's deadly to go out in public). We're still over 100 days out from the election, the numbers will drop even more by then. There's zero argument to be made that voting cannot be done in public. None. Not after the last month. What if the elderly poll workers don't show up because they are high risk and won't take the chance plus the flu season ?

Cinga Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Ruh-Roh.... Looks like the pneumonia/influenza/covid death rate has fallen to what would be considered "normal" according to the CDC. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/covid-data/covidview/index.html 1
