Cripple Creek Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 (edited) My thread, my rules. A bust shall be defined as any player who does not come close to reaching his draft potential, irregardless of reason (drugs, injury, etc.). We shall go with the top 20 from this list: https://ftw.usatoday.com/gallery/2020-nfl-draft-big-board-consensus-top-40 Joe Burrow Chase Young Tua Tagovailoa Jeff Okuda Isaiah Simmons Derrick Brown Justin Herbert Jedrick Wills Jr. Mekhi Becton Tristan Wirfs CeeDee Lamb Andrew Thomas Javon Kinlaw Jerry Jeudy K'Lavon Chaisson Henry Ruggs III Jordan Love Xavier McKinney CJ Henderson Justin Jefferson So, of that group, who has, to you, the biggest bust potential? I'll go first: Tua. I wouldn't touch him with @GunnerBill 's 10' pole. Injury concerns are huge for me and no hands on medical evaluation make this a very risky move. It's one I wouldn't have made prior to our current mess, but now? Who ya got? Only one choice per user. No hemming, no hawing. Put your cajones on the chopping block. Edited April 3, 2020 by Cripple Creek Bolded text so even a gugny can follow the directions.
GunnerBill Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 I think the three of those most likely not to be good are: Justin Herbert - I just don't see any truly exceptional traits. Mekhi Becton - all the traits and I do like him I think sky high potential but extremely low floor. Does at times lunge at defenders in a way that gives me Greg Robinson flash backs. CJ Henderson - he just has so many concentration lapses. The kid is talented but I don't know if he has it mentally to be a top end NFL player. There are others like Chaisson and Jefferson and Thomas who I have ceiling questions with but whose floors I think mean they will still have decent enough careers.
MiltonWaddams Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Justin Herbert . He will be over-drafted. Not his fault, just the way it goes...

Pick one. I'll go update the OP. 1

OldTimer1960 Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Of that list, I think Chaisson as he will be drafted mostly on potential, not production. Still, he is young (not 21 until July), reportedly a hard worker and has all the physical tools to be very good. 2
Gugny Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Joe Burrow, unless Chase Young doesn't live up to the hype. Of course Tua Tagovailoa's injury could turn him into a quick bust. But a lot of me thinks that Jeff Okuda, Isaiah Simmons, Derrick Brown and Justin Herbert might be overrated. Jedrick Wills Jr., Mekhi Becton, Tristan Wirfs, CeeDee Lamb, Andrew Thomas, Javon Kinlaw and Jerry Jeudy might be as good as advertised. Then again … they might not. K'Lavon Chaisson, Henry Ruggs III, Jordan Love and Xavier McKinney round out my list of players who could either be really good, really bad or somewhere in between. But I can't leave CJ Henderson and Justin Jefferson. These two could be superstars. But then again, they could be busts. But I'm leaning toward them either being studs, busts or average players. I stand by these assessments and predictions and welcome being called out if they turn out to be untrue. 1

Pick one guy and stick with him. 1 1

GunnerBill Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 If I have to go with one and one only I am going Becton because I think his floor is the lowest.
Mark Vader Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Mekhi Becton. Big guy with potential, but I don't put him in the same class as Tristan Wirfs. 1
Kirby Jackson Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 (edited) Herbert, Love, Chaisson, Becton I actually found this pretty easy. Biggest bust potential to me is always a high ceiling, low floor prospect. These guys all check those boxes IMO. If I have to pick one I’ll pick Chaisson. Edited April 3, 2020 by Kirby Jackson
